Now here is something that would be worthy of complaining about. Heard it on the radio: Some guy was dating this girl. He was vegetarian, because he had some serious digestive issues and became violently ill whenever he consumed meat. So, this guy goes to meet this chick's family, and declines some meat and states that he does not eat meat...simple as that. Family did not ask questions, and he did not explain. He goes to some family gathering with her again, and her parents think it's "stupid" that he's vegetarian, so hand him a dish which contains some sort of meat, and swear on their to him that it is all vegetarian. He eats it, and afterwards spends days sick as a dog because of it. I'm so glad I've never encountered anyone THAT stupid..... I can honestly say I have NEVER had anyone try to slip me meat like that. Have any of YOU ever encountered people that actually tried to serve you meat and hide it from you????
I read that letter in Dear Abby. The jack-ass relatives of the girlfriend (i.e. the folks who poisoned him) were unhappy that, after spending a nite in the hospital, he didn't understand that it was just a joke.
it has never happened to me..but my cousin was a veg cause her sister was..and her sister made her feel like shit if she ate meat..so, may granny would slip chorizo grease into her egg pot and chz tacos...............i thought it was soooooooooooooooooo wrong...but, then again she was not eating meat for the wrong reasons as well..because now she eats chicken..
Are you saying its OK to disrespect the wishes of vegetarians who are doing it for the "wrong reasons"?
i've had it happen to me.. twice.. by two people that never knew each other.. both times i got really sick and they felt bad. i warn people now.. "i'll get sick and barf for 2 days, so don't even do it jokingly" if you don't eat meat.. your body stops making the enzymes that break it down.. so of course the body's reacion is to "get rid" of whatever it is. irritates me that some people are bothered because one choses not to ingest animals.. not to harm them in anyways.. but it's totally fine to kill a cow for selfish taste buds?
i dont understand ppl like that. what do they care if someone chooses to eat meat or not? its not their body, someone should sneak broccoli in their meatloaf.
Yeah, I know, I haven't had that happen to me, but I have accidentally eaten things that later I realized had a dairy product or egg in it, and ended up sick as a dog. I got vegetable lo mein once at a chinese place...and as stupid as it sounds I had no idea that those noodles were made with egg, I thought they were rice noodles. So after spending hours in the bathroom feeling like I was going to puke [I didn't because I don't puke easily at all] I looked into it and realized there was egg in it. My body has never taken well to any kind of animal products... I have terrible digestion the way it is. And lucyinthesky16---it is so retarded, why people care so much. I'm used to the stupid comments and arguments, but things like that, where they feel the need to feed you meat... that's fucking absurd. I've had people try to get me to eat meat just verbally, but that's it...and that's annoying enough. I can take the rude comments, the arguments, etc. but it's super annoying when they actually try to get you to eat it. My fiancee is a lot better now and likes a lot of my vegan products, but when we first started dating, it irritated him for some reason... and he would always say "I'll try your tofu dog, if you try my burger" We actually argued over it a lot when we first started dating... now he accepts it.
Yea, people can be so harsh, im vegetarian, i know people have done that to me a few times, and i completely lost respect for them, im not vegetarian for helth reasons, but surely they should just accept that i dont want to eat meat. It doesnt even affect them, so whats the harm?
my words were i thought it was soooooooooooooooooo wrong.. but...i did say she only did around her sister because her sister would make her feel like shit..in no way am i justifying it...just stating the facts..
