well end of a era I can remember seeing groups like the move, the beatles, and the stones on top of the pops , I remember seeing the amazing world of arthur brown sing fire , or judy driscole sing this wheels on fire

in fact I can remember 1960s top of the pops really well ,then you had the 70s bowie mud slade then the 80s , really I stopped watching it in the mid eighties but in its day it was a fantastic show .:)

at that time I believe we only had two at the most tv stations in the uk .....and people had to watch the antics of goats for entertainment people would sit round giving lemons to goats and watch the faces they pulled ....sadly those days are past although I wait to see something simular on big brother

I'm looking forward to seeing this

The old boys back together to film the last episode

Hairy Cornflake, I was a fan of his.. he did our morning radio show on Classic Gold .. always listened to it without fail!!

I'll miss the show in a way.. saying that, I haven't really watched it since the early 90's

It's sad in a way, the end of an era really. But it just goes to show, you have to adapt to ever changing demographics and the nature of audience preference. Top of the Pops had its day I think, but everyone knows its fake. It would be much better if they had live performances on it....

yeah and also... if you let the quality go down, it's bound to be doomed.

Damn. Many years ago, my family spent a year in Guildford and the 14yr old me watched Top of the Pops. T-Rex won the first show I saw. Atomic Rooster was another winner that I remember. Do they still use the Led Zepplin intro music?
