anyone read it? by alice sebold. quite possibly one of the best books of the last decade - in my not so humble opinion.

I thought it was really, really great. Sad yet it made me smile, it was touching without being sickening and so creative.

really? You found it THAT good, eh? I read it and liked it, but would never rank it as being THAT wonderful. Lots of good books written in the last 10 years.

to be perfectly honest, i can't say i've ever read a better book, and i've read a few.

while i was reading the lovely bones the language was so powerful and so well structured that i felt many times that i was watching the story instead of reading it. reminded me a bit of d.h. lawrence that way.

really.. huh... we must grade books on a different curve. I read a lot too, and while I thought it was a good book, it didn't really effect me in any long reaching way.

one of the more recent ones I've read is "The Time Traveller's Wife". I find myself thinking back on it, thinking back on passages, and the meanings behind them. I relate strongly with the main characters.

Maybe that is why I didn't like "bones" so much.. found it hard to relate to the main character?

I enjoyed the lovely bones. the point of view taken was fairly innovative as far as literature is concerned. I read another book by alice sebold a couple of months back as well. I may be wrong but i think the title is something like Luky, there is a rabbits foot on the cover. The last book is a true encounter of Alice sebold's rape in college very sad and moving.
