xp is insidious. i would say get 2k or linux. i would say that but i won't because then i'd feel moraly bound to set the example of fallowing my own advice which i'm financialy incapable of.

there's something going arround the internet, or maybe something in microfasciest's updates, i don't know which, but my screen saver setting worked just fine up until recently and now i have to dink arround starting and stopping other programs every time after i log off of the net before they start working the way the're STILL SET.

so i'm just as mystified as you are.
i think it's a cia sponsered virus aimed at anyone who is responsible enough to do their own thinking instead of buying the corporate mafia's line of crap.

er, which probably won't help solve our problems with it.

anyway, just going back to look at your settings
then opening system monitor (by the three finger salute that used to force a reset in older opperating systems)

also make sure in the properties settings of any application you have open you don't have that ap set to suppress screen saver. (there's a check box in the advanced properties tab of some aplications where you can have screen saver which would normaly otherwise run disabled while that application is open)
