I just dont understand why we dont have real wars anymore. I mean the whole police action and other side not wearing uniforms shit is for the birds.

The use of others showing posts of the US breaking this law and the US breaking that law. Well read the entire contensts of the Geneva Convention and we by far have been breaking to rules.

    http://www.globalissuesgroup.com/geneva/protocol1.html

The use of civilians for shields, the killing of captured enemy, the public display of captured soldiers, the ruse of car bombs and using civilians to blow up your enemy, the attacks on medical groups that are clearly marked. The attack on civilians transporting food and medical supplies. The attack on aid workers.

Yes the rules are being broken but seems the US is the only one being held accountable.

Ummm...historically, when have there EVER been "rules" for war? The Geneva convention is a nice thought and perhaps an attempt at bringing cilivility to war, but in the end, it's just a piece of paper. When someone is shooting at you day in and day out, you don't necessariliy weigh the ideals of global policy, you just shoot back and do what ever is necessary to survive...

I think the reason that the US is apparently "being held accountable" ahead of other nations is because we're commiting horrible war attrocities like any other nation, but proclaiming that our shit doesn't stink at the same time. The militants in the middle east have never made any commitments to the Geneva convention or "fair play" - so at the very least, they're not hypocritical.

And "Real wars??" ... Real wars are a thing of the past my friend. Real wars involve a definite target with a finite end to the conflict i.e. the destruction of an enemy or the overturning of a government. We've evolved (tounge in cheek) past that. We have an enemy which is (according to our government) omnipresent, with no one central authority figure to point a finger at. What's more, we're also fighting religious ideology - which is perhaps the most difficult set of values to purge from a society. War today will only be "over" when it becomes unprofitable - and right now, that seems very very far away.
