I got a new car today, well kinda I put a down payment down and am taking a 24 hour test drive. I get my downpayment back tommorow if I choose not to keep it. It gets good gas mileage but not as good as I would have thought and it's not exactly what I want but it's economical. My mom is gonna freak when she comes home.
no a 05 jetta gls 1.8. It's really cute but the dealer said it got 35 miles to the gallon and when I got home and bluebooked it and all that it actually only gets 24
yes, they are too small. I have two large dogs and am really only able to do things with them when I can borrow my mom's car because my car I have now (but not for long ): ) is too small. Also, I like the escapr hybrid, but it's out of my price range. I really want a volvo s40 but I want at least a 05 but they haven';t been able to get the color I want in stock and I can't afford my 100 mile commute in the car I have now anymore. I did see a really cute 04 audi tt...it was so hard not to just be like uermmmhhh yeah I'll take that even though I can't afford it and it's impractical. I got approved for 35k so it's hard not to get something I REALLY want.
that's the same engine as my brother has in his A4. He gets about 22 around town and 28 on the highway, but his is a wagon, so much heavier than the Jetta. I could see you getting about 30 on the highway, but probably not 35
Love the Volvo. Sexy. Damn near bought it. I was into the TT, too, until someone said it looked like a squashed Beetle. And when you sit in the TT, the doors are so damn high you can't put your elbow out the window without practically sticking it up straight in the air, and ppl driving them look like little kids peering over the steering wheel.
god it's just so hard. I feel like erghhh the gas is getting ridiculous I need to trade it in but I want exactly what I want but this is so reasonabley priced.
that's it I'm waiting for the volvo...my mom came home a few minute's ago haha. she was stoked until I told her about the gas mileage. erggghhhh but i can't afford to drive my car anymore. Em-highway ): so it's not even that good and I think that was the manual and i cant pick up driving a stick again for some reason
Funny story. My friend in Orlando worked for his dad's print shop which had a Geo Metro for deliveries. There was good surf because a hurricane was coming, so he ditched work to drive to the beach. The storm was moving in late in the day. He was hauling ass home when the Geo threw a rod in the middle of bumfuck egypt. The rain starting comin down and he had to walk two miles in the ditch carrying his board (the Geo's locks didn't work) and wearing baggies with black socks and black dress shoes. He looked like such an idiot when I rescued him at the 7-11.
I'm keeping it. I love the way it handles. it's 4 doors so my insurance will be lower too. and I figured it out on excell and it would save me 160 dollars a month if I kept it. I like it about the same as the car I have now. It's waaaaaaayyyyyy safer. it just makes sense.
my dad's 63 datsun pickup, the one that looked like a chopped austin-martin but with a 1-ton suspension, got 24mpg easy in traffic and waaaaaaaaaay better then 30 if you tac'd just above lugging and didn't have to accelerate. we crossed 60 miles of desert (distance to the nearest gas from where we were) with the needle on below empty, sometime back in 71/72. same little bugger got sideswiped by a full size 3/4 ton gmc. ours remained drivable. his didn't. so i guess it was pretty safe enough too. course it woulda needed some kind of a little top for the back for your doggies.. =^^= .../\...
