Why do people put up with all her crap? A) She's not a real judge. B)The damages she awards are paid by the producer. I only wish I knew an old lady that mean. I would tear into her. "All that money and "power" and you still can't keep a husband."
Plus, her real name is Sheindlin, which sounds awful jewish. You could always just fall back on holocaust jokes if you run out of other material.
What do you mean her "real" name? They dont hide that and give her a new last name... You can have the same kind of court case without the tv cameras. I forget the term for the type of judge that does it, but what she rules is what has to happen.. And she used to be a family court judge..which is a real judge..
I never understood any of the judges I've come before........I was just outside burning paperwork form numerous court cases against me over the last few years. Still a lot more of a waste of a godd tree to go
I was watching her show one time and a guy actually stood up for himself and she said he's a smart ass (or something of the sorts) and ruled against him. That doesn't sound like justice to me.
I don't understand any of those court TV shows either. Where's the love y'know? Judge Judy's such a witch.
A) She is a real judge. From her bio, you can read that she began in 1972 as a prosecutor on juvenile delinquent cases in NY Family Court, and served as a federally sanctioned Judge from 1982-1996. (in other words, assuming you are the lad in the photo, since before you were born) B) The damages awarded are not paid by the producer. Both parties do receive a fee for their appearance from a fund set aside by the producer (because they're choosing to allow their case to be aired on T.V.), but the damages awarded are paid by the losing party, and her decision is legally binding. Depending on just how much the ruling is for, it's true that both parties may or may not come out ahead after they've been paid for doing the show, but the rulings are real. (this info is displayed in a disclaimer at the end of every show)
I'm older than you - and can tell the difference between former judge and actual judge. I can also differentiate between dignified judge-like behaviour and heinous bitch. Yeah, well, the very first site I looked at had this to say: Did you know the WWF wasn't real, either?
you left out on wikipedia it says "citation needed" after that, brad. dont trust everything you read on there afterall, i could write the articles, as can anyone.
this thread is entertaining i dont know who's side to be on i think i may go for brad he can out-asshole all of you and about judge judy.. i can safely say i have never watched her show.
