    The stars
    have lit silken songs
    in many a poet's heart,
    but tonight
we could have made the watching stars blaze
    with a feral music
    and set the heavens dancing
and made the very sky throb with the pangs of our exquisite aching.

...but you chose to go to the beach alone.

I love how visual this poem is. I can relate to that feeling of broken hopes.

Funny thing is, just an hour later, all that I had imagined happened... beautiful, gentle, starlit love.
