im just wondering wat is everyones opinion of a hippie. ive always considered myself one but only recently have i adopted the look. watever it is. ive always had a lot of so called hippie type beliefs like peace and love towards mankind, anti war etc. how ever i often find myself doing things that some ppl would consider very unhippy like. like eating meat, and various other things. i personally am coming to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a hippie or goth or any other type of persona. all there is is billions of individuals every single one is their own genre of humanity i am me nothing more nothing less. i would just like to here someone elses opinion. thanks for all the replies peace
Hippie is as Hippie does.. this question has been asked at least ten thousand times. Read the threads before asking the same question, give us something to think about not the same ole same ole boring questions.
i guess i was being to general in my question wat i mean to say is are their any existential boundaries to being anything in terms of specific types of ppl whether it be hippies, punks, thugs watever i have just recently been being called a hippy b/c i have started growing my hair long and just thought how close minded it is for ppl to think something like that. i have always enjoyed psychadelic type music and considered myself a hippy in my thinking and at heart wtf makes me one now and not before. or maybe i am not a hippy at all i dont know
A hippie is a person who had decided to get back to an earlier way of life that people traded in for all this so-called "modernisms". We believe that the way to true happiness is not through money or objects or popularity, but it is through our relationship with mother earth and her connection to our soul.We look after her, and she sees to us,and all will be well .
Hippies--if they are American educated--spell words correctly. Not to do so would be greatly affected behavior.
I think you answered your own question. Lables??? Who the Fuck cares. You are what you are. And yes, we are all the same essentialy, but our own induvidual. If I were you, I wouldn't even stress. What a hippie is to one person is something else to another. I think a "true hippie" is someone who was there, in the 60s. All after, including myself, are a deviation of that time. I am intrigued with hippies because I dug what they were about and I dug the unity (and I totally dig the music). But that time is so gone. I feel like I would've been a hippie, if I was there, but I'm not, and I dont call myself that. Some people call me a hippie; cool, great, fine, thanks, but I'm just who I am.
hippies lived during a certain time. Most people claiming to be hippies are just trying to recapture a time they were born to late to be a part of. Doesnt make them any less beautiful kindhearted people. It makes em optimists
how close minded, a hippy would question wether or not theres onlky one way to spell words especialy when alternate spellings still hold the same meannings
I will ignore the punctuation. I could not disagree more with this line of thinking. Misspelling words is quite different from employing an alternate spelling. Alternate spellings would be available in a dictionary such as grey for gray, or the consistent application of British spelling (i.e. colour, licence). When a person intentionally chooses to write using his own orthography, he presents himself as an uneducated buffoon. As such, I give his opinion little regard. This in no way diminishes my status as a hippie. Nor does it make me closed-minded. I am simply a hippie who doesn't read drivel or gibberish.
In fact, it's often impossible to figure out what some of those cryptic messages are trying to convey. Peace, poor_old_dad
