[IMG]Hi...I just started growing in the end of May. My plants are about 2 ft high. All has been well until now. The leaves are curling under at the tips. The tips and edges of the leaves are turning brown. Any ideas? These are out door plants. Temp varies from 80-95 at day time and at night down to about 60's at the lowest. they get a good amount of sun. They are in 12" pots. Filled with potting soil from walmart. it is half decent stuff...i guess? I have been putting mircal grow on it for fert...Is that bad? i have recently bought some fert 17-17-17. any ideas why the leaves are curling and browning at the tips. I included some pics in the post...Sorry im new at this so any tips would be helpful[IMG]

I'd say nitrogen burn. Lay off the ferts for a while and flush with water w/o drowning your plant.

Agreed the brown is nute burn and the leaves curling is overwatering. Just give them plain water but don't over do it.

Wow, could be a heavy fertilizer burn or You may be running up against two problems at the same... your roots could be hitting the sides of the pots. Being a newby, you are most likely trying to be the best farmer possible, way over watering and way over fertilizing. Drainage is important as well. If you are in sand, you have to use less fertilizer even yet, but more often. Stick your finger down deep, it you can pull it out and no soil hangs on your finger, then water again. Smell your finger.... if it smells really earthy and healthy, you are doing ok. But if it has no smell, chances are you have overfertilized and killed the soil. The flavor from this kind of grass is not good either.... Calcium and magnesium are usually the elements neglected in the system, micros as well.... nothing really does the job like a really well made compost...... with a little tiny bit of calcium nitrate, ja jajaja
