Lately, there have been a lot of people in Boulder getting people to sign a petition to put legalization on the ballot in November. Today, I asked a petition guy what the petition was all about, how many people they needed, what would it do, etc. He said they had almost reached the number of signatures they needed to put it on the ballot! The law would legalize one ounce or less for possesion by adults 21 or older. Since Boulder is such a liberal community, I am sure that more than half of the citizens would vote for this. So, it looks like it is going to be legalized here!! I know the federal bigwigs can still prosecute you... whatever, this is going to be a huge symbolic victory! Two cities in Colorado (a red state!) will have shown their ideas about legaliztion. Maybe that will provoke some action higher up. I am keepin my fingers crossed.

I came to boulder to visit one of my friends who goes there around 420. It's basically legal already anyway. Everyone was smoking everywhere and cops didn't care at all. It was like the most liberal place I've ever been to...

Haha i wouldnt say it is that extreme. Theres lots of old rich christian republican families around here that make sure no one smokes outside (with the exception of 420 ;) ) but things are looking up for us!

Let's not forget that Arizona (state wide too I think) is also voting for legalization in Dec.

Legalization bothers me if it means corporate control over growing. Thus leading to substance / radiation filled packs of marijuana cigarettes.

Kparker, those are the Safer folks who passed the Denver law last November (and who LOST in Telluride...Telluride?!?!?)
    It's a statewide ballot initiative.
    So, Coloradans, register and VOTE

Yeah i just realized its STATEWIDE! wow this is awesome! Lots of republicans in our state though, we are a red state. With Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs (maybe?) and Fort Collins we should have a lot of people for it. Colorado Springs has all those focus on the family freaks though

Ppl who are afraid of legalization are stupid. I mean sure decriminilization would be cooler but even if the gov. did have packs of joints that had chemiacals in them but you could still grow your own.
