Good morning! Another hot and humid day here, just had the kids outside for a while in the kiddie pool. They didn't want to be outside very long though! Now we're back inside and my boys are streaking through the house naked, giggling like mad.
Well I guess you could just if you get picked for your random UA and its shows up your kinda done driving truck is all. I hear guys trying all the time, lots of people selling "party favors" at truck stops so its done.
do all companies do random UA, or is it just the big ones? I know the state I'm in will give me one just to even get my CDL.... but I don't think they give any more after that. so technically, if I worked for a small company, say, hauling logs or something, I could easily get away with it. But I just don't know.
All trucking companies are required by federal law to do random lottery drawing UA's and a UA for a driver that gets in a wreck resulting in injury or a vehicle being towed away no matter the fault. Every year you must update the UA and DOT at anytime can pull a UA on a driver. PA is known for having this little RV set up at rest areas and when you pull in to use the bathroom they haul you to thier RV and give ya a cup.
driving was always one of my biggest dreams, but so is being a pothead. How to mix the two up is still puzzling me. This only makes it tougher. I need to think some more.
You loose alot of freedoms sorta being a driver, cant drink for 24 hours before driving a truck, even some legally prescribed drugs will prevent you from legally driving a truck. On the other hand its a blast for the most part with the right company.
Its the money I like more than anything. Plus the opportunity to drive all over the country and see things I've never seen before. Its probably the only way I'll ever see some of the places. drinking and prescribed drugs I'm not worried about ( I don't take any prescriptions, and I can go without drinking at a moments notice. its the pot I can't do without.) I need to find a stoner friendly career.
well, thats why I'm thinking of things I can do without the pot. 5 years ago I would have laughed at anyone who suggested I get a job that required me to stop smoking it. But now, I am looking at things differently and seeing that perhaps the money I make NOT smoking is worth more to me than getting high. and I think its because I am bored with getting high. I've been doing it for so long sometimes I don't even realize I'm stoned anymore, thats just my normal feeling. I havent smoked in over a week now, and while its really tempting to go burn one, its nice to feel not stoned for once. but I get bored with everything after an extended period of time. Thats what is keeping me from totally commiting to a driving career. alot of guys I talk to tell me that they don't reccomend it cuz they get tired of driving day in and day out year after year.
Yes I got tired of computers day in and day out so I started to drive. Driving truck is tough but also not.
i go through phases where I get really sick of my computer, and then days when I can't get enough of it. thats why I don't pursue a career in computers, (which would definitly be stoner friendly, and very profitable)
