i call upon all homosexual christians to write to my church supporting me in a bid to allow gays into the church. my chuch, holy trinity adelaide, has not even allowed gays to enter into the entrance of the church, sayingthat they are "unclean" being gay myself, i find it quite hard as a pastor there. and obviously, i have to lie and pretend not to be gay, which i regret is not a very nice thing. please do not mention my name. PLEASE. but i ask that all gays go onto www.trinityadelaide.org.au and support me in this bid, which i hope we will win
If you're a pastor, you have the power of sermons. I would strategically plan the subjects of semons for a while.
Writing to the bishop wont help - put an ad in the press saying "help me to bash the bishop". Then let all the gays know that there will be a bishop bashing at the local church hall. After you have all finished bashing the bishop you could take a petition to him and tell him that you have a lot of support and many gay people will keep bashing the bishop until he sees that the bishop bashers have a point PS either that or go and buy some bishops clothes from the local bishops outfit shop and become a bishop. Its easy you just put the clothes on and do the sighn of the cross a lot and ask rich people for money to fix the church roof, or some other tenuous excuse for a dollar or two, and then spend the money on having the church decorated in a camp style with leopardskin cushions on all the pews and pink, crushed felt, curtains. And a very well organised vase of flowers on the alter
Why should gays want to join a church that has a policy of excluding them? I dont see blacks clamoring to be allowed KKK membership...

Yeah.. umm.. why would you want to belong to a church that doesn't want you? Its not like there is a shortage of churches that would accept you. The church I grew up in was the first in Canada to allow openly gay ministers and it was the ministers from my church that was performing all the gay marriages in Canada. So, to reiterate, why not just find a new church?
This is a great idea! Hopefully one day we can all live in a world where us gays can go to the same church with our straight friends and love ones. Even us babyfurs too. I know it is a stretch but in a perfect world we'd even be allowed to wear diapers in church (if we're into that kind of thing).
If you follow the logic of the thread - that would be like saying that it would be great if black people and the KKK could live together in harmony - its not really an option is it - you have to get rid of the KKK dont you to live in harmony with others. If the church hates gays then if you want everyone to live in harmony rid the world of the church. Seems to me some gays love the church but it hates them - get rid of the haters not the lovers I still think humour works best - about 200 of you in church dressed as bishops and camp it up
Perhaps instead of getting them into the churches, you should adopt a religion which is more open to diversity- Buddhism for example. Or you could just start your own church which is open to everyone. That way your not having to fight the bigoted religious zealots who control most of the mainstream christian church these days.
If you believe in God, you know that he created homosexuals, and not allowing them to come to church is like having a child and then throwing him into the street.
well, i went on the website and emailed the church... i told them that they should let anyone into their church and that it was weird that sucha rule exists. i also said that if it were me, i wouldnt attend their church anyway, because God doesnt like ugly, and discriminating against people who want to praise God because of their sexual orientation is UGLY
Well said, what has it done for america? It has ;Helped create hate for blacks, helped create hate for females, and now help create hate for gays. That religion has helped spread lies and misconceptions about gay people . It has been one of the lead things holding back society. Other religions, like Buddhism and more liberal Christians however have done nothing but loved and cared for people. If God exists they are his followers, not those other people who are filled with hate. Shivers* So much hate, so little love.
I wish that the world did not work in such a way that problems like this arise as often as they do. I hope that there will come a time when acceptance of all people and beliefs will be more common, but I also believe that forcing acceptance is only going to cause unecessary conflict and will ultimately do more harm than good. Let the church decide who they welcome. Acceptance is something that must come with time, and I believe that it will. Until then I would recommend attending another church and continuing to spread a positive message. Eventually that message will reach others including your church of interest. Hopefully they will choose to listen.
I guess I do not understand.. Because my take on this is you want us to go to this website email this church to allow gays.. You want us as people to stand up and support you where you fail to even support yourself and hide what you are, Why would you even want to be apart of this church. I agree with the other poster who said you need to find your own way and start your own church welcoming all.. When you are ready to really fight this cause and stand up next to people who would be willing to support you, instead of hiding... Then come back and ask.. Sorry just MHO.. I am willing to support anything I believe in, but as long as the person asking for the support is also willing to stand up and support there cause also..
You could also move to either Massachusetts or Vermont, both are pretty gay friendly. Religion is a truly the opiate of the masses, Communist philosophy had a great idea with a completely atheistic state, no religious controversies. Hmm. Too bad Bush wasn't a commie bastard..
