i always thought it was fun to listen to my mom talk about her life in the hippy generation. anybody else think so? if so, tell me one! i got one story i want to share... my mom and a bunch of other college students went to the space needle and had a smoke out under it. thats when two dea's came up to them and said "wanna move it to the other side, that IS illegal" cops were so leinient back then. they were almost cool! too bad it changed.
How about Grandparents mine were hippys my Grandad was into Budism and there was all these levels and he got to the 2nd highest and even got messages from the Dali Llama and some very important Budists. He also did all these type of meditation and he got on a wire with other people and he was at work and he had 2 experiences of people saying they had been meditating and had been told to talk to him and he would help them and he did, I thought that was real cool and freaky
My parents weren't hippys or anything like that (too young and normal) but my Dad did get to stay up and watch the Beatles on TV. Crappy story I know, my parents suck.
My Dad isn't and wasn't a hippy but he did see Led Zeppelin before they were famous and one of his College friends new Jimmy Page but my Dad never kept in touch. P.L.U.R.
my parents are too young but my dads brother(my uncle) and his wife were alive and lived through the movement. my uncle got drafted and ran to canada with her and from there they went to europe and traveled around until they got to that one city(its like a hippie only town but i forgot where it was and what its called ). they lived there till a little while after i was born and then they moved to wisconsin, west allis i think it is. i got to hang out with them a few times until i turned 10, then my parents wouldnt let them see me anymore because they did drugs and he was a draft dodger. so yeah in the end its a sad story, i havent heard from them in a while
wow... that really sucks. sorry to hear that. my family is like the opposite. my uncle smokes with my parents, and also with his son. everyone knows, nobody cares. kinda fun actually, but i dont feel comfortable enough to smoke around my parents. that would be too weird for me.
