I hear ya. I have some hippie friends, but none my age, they're all still homeschooled. mosat of the kids around here are seriously fucked up, hell, the three guys that sat behind me in english/social studies last year were Nazis that wanted to grow up to be CEOs of oil companies and kill my friend sam for existing (sam's a jew, a very stereotypical jew)

Woah, that is messed up, I cant believe theres still people who think that way. Seriously, cant they tell whats wrong or right? It is really sad to see people who actually believe we are the ones who are wrong, and refuse to be of help to their way of living. Last week when i was heading to my school, outside the room where we have our club meetings, there was a banner that said "Go Home Stupid Idealists" cant u believe that! Now u take good care of ur friend sam alright, do whatever it takes to protect him;) Im glad you think that way.

    HIPPIES RULE!!!!!! Dont We? ;)

I just found my way to this section of the boards today. I've been mostly chillen in the communal living forum, but there seems to be a lot of real cool people around here too. My name is Mike, and I'm a young hippie as well. Nice to meet you all. If anyone is from Ohio, they should go to the Harvest Jam in october and meet up.

Hello there, Im always reading about hippies from the United States. Is there anyone from Germany or at least Europe?
Id like to contact someone who can tell me something about how to build up a commune like in the 70s. Cause today I can only find something like Common houses or shared work communities, but no Hippie- Spirit at all and... the most people who live in such places seem to be older than 30. I dont know weather it is possible or not, but a friend of mine and me want to start a life in a commune after school. Could anyone help us?

I'm Colin, or telecaster90 or tele or whatever.

The internet rules, becuase I can get to cool places like this and meet other people I have things in common with.

I live in South Carolina. It sucks. I used to live in Connecticut, which had an awesome music scene and no ignorant redneck douches. I've found my niche as one of the guys with black shirts and long hair that carries around a guitar, though.

I'm a Christian, even though I don't always act like one. I lead worship at my youth group and at prayer meeting my friend and I do at our school, as well as Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

I enjoy toolin around on the internet/myspace, playing guitar and drums, and hangin around with friends. I'm on the drumline at the high school. That's pretty fun stuff.

Musicly, I listen to alot of Progressive and Metal music. At the moment, my favorite two artists are Frank Zappa and Megadeth. I also dig some instrumental stuff. As long as it takes talent to play, I can get into it. I'm in a band right now called Parallax, we're this cool Progressive Metal Jamband. You can check out myspace at www.myspace.com/parallaxsc. I also have some acoustic stuff on myspace at www.myspace.com/colinpoulton. Lemme know if you dig anything on there.

Politically, I'm middle of the road. I can really see some things from both sides, but lately, I've been leaning towards more liberal stuff.

That's all I can think of. Hit me up in AIM sometime at telecaster90.

    Later

    Colin

    Hey,

This place is trully awesome! It's sooooooooo laid back. I hang around the Knotty Boy how to Forum so you'll probhibly find me there.

I like some of the signitures like:

Save water... Shower with a friend!

    That one so creative P.L.A.S!!!!

Hippie movement is never dead. It's merely in hibernation. When our generation is older. We will rise up against war, save the planet our parents almost comepletly destroyed, and spread love to all, young and old.

    hippys are around fools
but there is no organized movement
so therefore, the movement died a long time ago. altough you hippys could revive it. and just cause your on hipforums and smoke weed, doesnt make you a hippy. not everyone on here is one

True, but I'm willing to bet that alot of us are. I am. And also, If you beleive in certain values, it doesn't matter if you wear tie dye and have long hair.

i was told that the hippies organized in the winter and coordinated all their efforts to find two snowflakes that loooked alike cuz they knew the underpinnings of the western industrial babylon is that no two snowflakes were alike and so if they found two that were alike, they could end the war and levitate the pentagon
