My favorite book is 'Be Here Now" by Ram Dass.

If you have not read it, you have to.

    It changed my life entirely.

Honerable mentions - Siddhartha, Ishmael, On the Road, Dharma Bums, My Sister From the Black Lagoon, and of course ... The Holy Bible - trippiest book ever written.

I love to read...and addicted to books, so there is a lot that I would recommend.

If you like non-fiction: John Krakauer...he's an amazing writer...any of his books are worth reading. Abbie Hoffman also writes well...often in collaboration with others.

Fiction: I like beat poets and writers. So anything by Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Jack Kerouac, etc...is worth reading.

Yup...and he's written a few others...right now I'm in the middle of "Under the Banner of Heaven"...it's about Mormonism in the United States and how it caused an extremeist to murder his sister in law...

It's really opened my eyes. That's what I like about his books. They are informational as well as really making you think outside the box on things.

yeah, i read about that in the back of Into the Wild

    seemed really interesting

reading Into the Wild was kinda crazy because you'd have to stop and go, "this kid was ACTUALLY doing/did all these things"

indeed, eye-opening is a good adjective

Yeah a friend of mine lent me the book when I had never heard of it...he ended up following the trail of Chris last summer and went up to the bus in Alaska that his body was found. I was jealous, I would have loved to have done that.

Into the Wild was definitely a great book :)

The hobbit is still my favourite. I prefer Tolkiens writing style here and I love these kind of fairytale-ish fantasy.

I Love Wuthering Heights, though it's slightly depressing. And Siddhartha, as well as too many others to name. Oh and I'm new, Hi!

    easy........

its a book about a person named "Equality 7-2521" that lives in a society were individuality does not exist....heres the 1st few paragraphs

it is a sin to write this. It is a sin to think words no others think and to put them down upon a paper no others are to see. It is base and evil. It is as if we were speaking alone to no ears but our own. And we know well that there is no transgression blacker than to do or think alone. We have broken the laws. The laws say that men may not write unless the Council of Vocations bid them so. May we be forgiven!

But this is not the only sin upon us. We have committed a greater crime, and for this crime there is no name. What punishment awaits us if it be discovered we know not, for no such crime has come in the memory of men and there are no laws to provide for it. It is dark here. The flame of the candle stands still in the air. Nothing moves in this tunnel save our hand on the paper. We are alone here under the earth. It is a fearful word, alone. The laws say that none among men may be alone, ever and at any time, for this is the great transgression and the root of all evil. But we have broken many laws. And now there is nothing here save our one body, and it is strange to see only two legs stretched on the ground, and on the wall before us the shadow of our one head.

i suggest this to anyone that likes great books especially political junkies......this is the best peice of literature iv ever read
