If capitalism cannot work in the long term because it requires never-ending economic growth (which is impossible and horrifically destructive on a planet with a finite supply of "marketable" resources); socialism is dangerous because it gives the governing body too much control over resources (and, when given power, humans tend to take advantage of it in oppressive ways); anarchy is impractical because, in a non-governed society, there is no way to prevent widespread violence among individuals or invasion from outside governments; and facism is just unthinkable, then what is the human race to do?

Well as far as capitalism and resources,I guess this will depend on which resources that are needed. Some resources are recyclable and conservable.

Since it's said that capitalism depends on resources then I would assume that capitalist are focused on managing these resources to get the best use from them because their businesses or industry are dependent on them doing so.

    Decentralized socialism.

No governing body could have ever dreamed of the power corporations have over resources. Private monopoly for private interests.

    Democratic socialism

I can go into detail on how I think the system should work if you like.

    Figure out something else.
One alternative is to find a way to make it to tommarow and repeat.

It might be an idea to try the alternative for a while and then figure out if it makes a system. Much grief has been caused by well meaning people who devise a system and then try to have people live by its precepts. Humans are wild animals. Their rules of behaviour should be discovered rather than imposed.

Oh yes, sending some of us off planet would be a prudent insurance policy.

Perhaps a new system no one has ever outlined. Which is probably good, because if they had some greedy person or corporation would be looking to manipulate it.

If we're looking for solutions to the current situation we see in the world, I don't think it can be done without a whole lot of lives lost, as much as I hate to say that. This would have to be coupled with a 'spiritualism of humanity' so to speak. I believe this would result in an anarchy- simply a governing of self. The spiritualism and recognition that humans are individuals and not simply wild beasts that do whatever they please would cause the globe to help eachother. Call it idealism, but I believe you'd find any solution to our corporate globalization to be 'idealistic.'
