I was just wondering, how many step parents are on the forum and what types of books are good to read . i've been married 4 months and have 2 step kids . Some hard times but over all their good kids Teri
I am a step-parent to 2 kids as well. My husbands kids (16 & 13)are a little older than mine (12, 9, and we have a 4 yr old together), so it was a very strange and difficult beginning. I have yet to find a good book that helped, but also would love to find a good one! What helped us is for my husband and I to go through counseling together and as hard as it was to form a friendship with his ex-wife. It took YEARS! LOL! But since she and I now get along and talk regularly, things have been better with his kids. For once I am actually invited to the kids birthday's and school events!
