Hello. I came across the site as part of my research as to the origins of the word "Hippy". While I was not a hippy myself, because I became a teen just as the movement was dying out, I got to experience some echos of the movement in the mid to late 1970's, such as the first Survival Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl, a few concerts, and a life-style rivaling "That 70's Show". At heart I haven't given up on much from those days, although there is now physically more of a belly and less of a head of hair. I have a wife, two boys and a hunge Southern California mortgaget to deal with. I'm still working on myself, and guess I will till my last days on earth. Steve
Welcome Steve, Were glad your here. Take a look around and join in anytime. Being a hippy is a state of mind, a lifestyle, you know it's all in the way you feel man. Having long hair or dreads, the clothing or being born at a certain time doesn't really a make hippy. Check out Jim Greenlee's site http://oldhippie.jimgreenlee.com/beingahippie.html
