Does astrology have any truth to it? I am a casual believer in astrology. I dont take it to extremes but sometimes the descriptions of certain signs are almost a perfect match to the person born under it, taking into consideration all the other variants involved, Sun signs, Rising, Decanates, Houses, Time and Place of birth.
I use to think it was BS.I would make fun of my friend who is into astrology and tarot cards n' stuff like that...But just recently I've been trying to learn more about it and keep an open mind on the subject. I did my first birth chart reading thing(y) on some free site yesterday and man it was pretty freaking accurate.Made me think there was more truth to it after all.Maybe it is BS,who knows! I read some article a month or so back, that was about these scientist that did some experiment with people and they said that it is not accurate and it doesn't really have any affect on us.
Well, I'm neutral on the subject. Of course the planets effect water, and us being almost entirely water, it stands to reason there'd be some effect. But I'm not sure what my opinion is on the subject.
Just in terms of Gravity, radiation, and all those nice other "forces" that are with you at your birth... The doctor and the machinery nearby had a much more profound influence (in terms of real force(s)) than most of the stars.
To test the validity of astrology, you should submit a differnet date to that site. It will give you a different reading. Remove the dates and give both readings to a friend. Ask them which reading matches you best. Try it with several friends (seperatly).
mostly it is a combination of synchronicity and ambiguity. there may be some synchronicity between chronology and personality, though not for the causes and explanations astrology generaly gives. ancient people didn't have a lot of time on their hands in a survival sense but maybe some of them did in some other ways. at any rate, all science begins with observation. including the observation of synchronicities, however speculative first tenative conclusions as to causality of synchrinicities might be. so there could be SOMEthing to anything and everything. probably is. just not often quite what it appears to be. some things are more reliable then others. some things are fun, more or less simply because they are not. or intrinsicly not. you know if you have two random number generators, eventualy and from time to time they will come up with a match. then you can say, gee gosh wow, there must be something super mystical magical that made them do that. i'd be the last to say ANYthing is ALL crap. or ALL anything else. of COURSE we don't know everything. how could we possibly rationaly be expected to? we live in a statistical universe, and statisticly even long shots do occassionaly hit. =^^= .../\...
It's total bullshit. No one should waste their time in it. Thinking that the stars can influence our lives is superstition and rediculous
Its not that the stars infulance a person. Consider the sky as a big clock. The planets are in certain signs in a regular pattern. It is possible that children born in winter have similar personalities, simply because their first months are spent in a particular environment. (They are bundled tighter than kids born in the summer. Being naked is less pleasant, etc.) If that is so, then kids born under those signs would be different than those born at a different time of year. Astrology does not claim that the stars "beam down" charactristics on people. It claims a correspondance (not a causality) between the position of the signs, planets & houses and a persons personality. It may be silly or false, but not "flaming balls of gas control my brain" silly.
one person's waste of time is another person's gratification. nothing is totaly anything. well almost nothing. i could say all absolute statements are false. that would be a bit like saying death to all fanatics. but i guess if you don't get that you don't get that. MikeE has it exactly right. or how it looks exactly right to me anyway. now what this has to do with any kind of conspiracy is a bit beyond making any kind of sense to me. =^^= .../\...
environemental factors of the earth affect us all as human beings. the MOON which is not part of the earth's environment affects it. the gravitational pull of the earth and whatever level of gravity the moon has work together when it comes to the formation of tides and waves. the legend about full moons and werewolves can be disregarded, but as for modern day studies there's evidence that the moon can affect human mood change as well. Seasonal Affective Disorder affects loads of people in the world - that is brought on by what goes on in the sky. "Thinking that stars can influence our lives is superstition and ridiculous" - i'd just like to point one thing out to you. What exactly is the SUN and where would we be without it?? If one star can make such a huge impact on life on earth, then who are you to say that other stars are insignificant and just there? Shuuuuuut up, i think you'd better stop trippin on space.
Does not the Moon have an affect on the tides. do we not map our chart by the stars, does the sun not keep our planet warm. Why would you think that the planets have no affect on us. Do you think we are above Creation and not part of the same Universe. If you move your house, does it not affect the next door house. Will the elements not reach this now vernerable house with no shelther. Will the winds and rain not batter this house now. Will the heating and cooling bills rise.. if a planet fell from the sky would this not change the universe and create a chain re-action and throw Earth off it's axis. Why are babies born in the cycle of the full moon and why are the jails and hospitals full during the full moon. Why does the sea rise and fall with the moon. And tell a woman having menus that the moon has no affect on her mood swings and cramps. We are part of ALL things in the universe, everything that happens affects us, how could it be any other way. We could not exsist if anything in the galaxcy changed drasticly, it would change the gravitivty and atmosphier and the polarity of our being. Each planet sends out a frequency that enters our atmosphier and reaches us as it flows downward into the very air we breath. It makes vibrations in the air and we recive them as nurishment of a sort. They carry minerals and other chemicals that are part of the human makeup. These vibrations also have an affect on the water and the Earth as it co-exsists. Without the Sun everything dies. Without the Moon the Sun is all consuming and is uninhabitable. We are not an Island, but a part of the whole sceem of things, all working in haromy with eachother. Holding eachother in balance, one slight deviation could throw the entire Universe into a spinout, crashing one planet into the other. Can the fish exsist without the sea, for a fish to say the sea has no affect on them would be ridicules. Does the bird exsist without the sky, for the bird to say it live without the sky would be a false assumption on the bird's side. We co-exsist with all Creation, The Earth The Planets the Creaters, The oceans.. we all depend on the other to survive. It was made that way. It's all a part of the same Creation. To make it all work in balance and harmony. Remove one element and you defy the balance of nature and it all falls apart. We learn the rules of nature and live by them or parish. We were taught from the begining to look to the stars for guidence. It's chiseled in the stone of the cave walls and on tablets and on papurus materials that is being unearthed daily, that proves the connection. Why Question Creator when we are just barely now gaining a clue as to what happend when, and what we will find at our journeys end. An open mind will unlock many doors to enlightenment and knowledge is the KEY. Study and Intuition will let you know what you need to know to get to the next level. To question is good, but to know what your are talking about you must first gain the knowledge to make a judgement. Otherwise it is just uneducated criticizium and doesn't hold merrit. One would have to study and investigate a subject to know it enough to have a judgment. To speak poorly of something that is forgien to you would be unauspicious and would create negitivity causing a chain-reaction thus creating more negitivity. Just be the very best human being you can be and enjoy the life you have chosen to partisapate in. Don't let you own negitivity stumble you into EGO thinking. Or the little me mentality. Think with your higher self that is connected to ALL things. Blessed Be sh
You are FREE to believe what you will, we are free to believe what we will. What is good for one may not fit another, you do what fits for you. We all have different needs, wants and desires. No one is forcing you to accept or swallow anything. Think what you will, only time will tell the truth. If it helps some to follow the planets who's biz'ness is it to tell them not too. It was you who started whining about NOT believing in astrology, so who said you had to and why make a fuss. Do you really care what someone else thinks enough to cause a sean about it. Can we believe if we are so inclined or do you forbid us to be free thinkers and judge for ourselves what is right and good for us. So you know nothing about astrology, that's why you hate it bc you don't understand it so it frightens you and you fight it. Who are you to say it is not possible, do you have inside imformation that we are not privy to. Go on with your bad self and condem something you know nothing about and show your unwillingness to grow. It's your choice as it our to believe what makes us feel better. No one asked you to like it.But, Like it or not, it IS. WALK in the LIGHT
Do a little research space trippin, before you make statements that are of a yes or no, black and white type. You just have to believe, and then it will work.
The original poster asked if astrology has any truth to it? I was giving my opinion on what I think of it and that was not whining...... OK? so it's as simple as that. It sure as hell doesn't frighten me and I'm not fighting it. I said what I think and if you don't like what I said, I don't care and I don't care who believes it or not
No, not interested in researching it. I know I'm not the only one here who doesn't believe in astrology. I think the majority don't but they aren't saying anything, then again thats just my opinion
