LEAGALISE CANNABIS ALLIANCE get my vote. What about you

The LCA was founded and registered as a political party in the UK in March 1999 with the express purpose of fighting in the political arena for the full legalisation and utilisation of cannabis, also known as hemp and many other names.

Our Manifesto our Principles, Aims and Proposals is published under the title "Cannabis: Legalise and Utilise" (ISBN 0 9535693 1 4) is available through all good bookshops or through Amazon.

You are invited to add your support to the growing list of endorsees, here and to join at just 50 pence per week, here.

Since 1999, LCA candidates have fought in almost 80 elections.

The LCA is run on a voluntary basis by up to seven members of an Administrative Executive, presently: Hugh Robertson (Treasurer), Rocky van de Benderskum (Publications), Alun Buffry (Nominating Officer) and Don Barnard (Press Officer).

The Party is financed entirely through membership, donations and sales. We invite you now to help support this campaign in this way.

Cannabis pretty much is legal. Not an arrestable offence for possesion anymore.

I agree with the proposed change, but to be effective and get any sensible persons vote it has to be proposed in an established party that has more aims thatn just "legalise weed".

I really wouldn't want them anything to do with running the country.

What advantage would there be in the legalisation?

    I'm all for it.
I'm a regular visitor to Amsterdam and I like the way things are run there, however it's still technically illegal in Holland and so many people think that it's legal but it's simply tollerated. Not too much difference to the UK in some respects. I really can't envisage coffeeshops opening up in the UK selling weed/hash anytime soon, but it is a nice pipe dream. It least it's now a class C drug which is a step.

What annoys me is when i see kicking out time at pubs and clubs i see ALOT of violence. Now make that lot smoke a spliff at home and violence ... gone! Makes sense to me. If cannabis were legal and we had coffee shops etc you wouldnt see any problems i dont think well not many no more than there are already since they introduced 24 hour openning for pubs and clubs should they apply for the licence.

the government could add their nice chunk of tax on the pot and we would have really decent stuff available where you dont have to wonder how much crap has been mixed with it!. Those are my opinions anyhow.

I definitely think cannabis should be legalised, along with a good many other relatively safe and non addictive drugs, like ecstacy, acid and mushrooms. Sold responsibly by licensed manufacturers, drugs would be a lot safer and purer than they are now - and they would cut out the violent crime element. However I wouldn't vote for the LCA. There are a lot more important issues out there than legalising puff I think.
