what do you use to keep your yarn under control when you're knitting, crocheting or whatever? i use a large ziplock bag, leaving a little bit open at a corner for the yarn to pass through. cheap, works great, plus i can just tuck my project and pattern in the bag when i'm through for the day.

I've a knitting basket for my current knitting project... but I'm like you, scraps and labels go in ziploc bags.

If you use a empty 2 liter bottle! Clean it and let it dry good! Cut it in half. Weight the bottom down with a few clean rocks. Pill the yarn through the top, and then it will stay in one spot and no knots!!

critter's idea is awsome....don't know if that would work with the stuff I buy.....I find that the only way that I can use it without knots is if I unravel it from the top string, not the inside one. Whenever I use the one inside, I get these huge ass knots of bundled yarn....drives me insane!
