why isint there a thread for scarface??? well anyways thats the greatest movie ever. (----------------------------) \----the world is yours ------/ \ / ------------------------/
Indeed it is. Love it. One of the only movies I've watched that I was so captivated by, I never wanted to get up or take my eyes off the screen for a second in fear I'd miss some of the greatness that it is. I love this quote- "I never fucked anyone in my life that didn't have it coming to them okay? All I got in this world are my balls and my word and I don't break them for no one understand?" And of course the bad guy speech in the middle of the restauraunt lol.
I think the poster is talking about the colombians with whom Pacino made the first cocaine deal...you know that chainsaw scene? Is there anyone who doesn't like Scarface? It's sort of a remake from the 30s and Pacino's presence and performance were outstanding, you'll instantly sense the man really knows what he's doing here, he he isn't just acting, he really knows the mentality of those characters, he grew up in the bronx. You can tell just from the stare. I don't know about you guys and this may sound ridiculous to you but if you do know what I'm talking about...there is a certain stare among thugs that lets you know that you better don't mess with that person...he's going to fucking kill you. I dunno you have to experience it. I like the director De Palma a lot, he is a master of suspense...i like most of his thrillers and crime movies. He is also the director of "Carrie", "The Untouchables", "Carlito's Way" and "Body Double" to name a few. I read that they did lot of research before shooting this movie (working with cops and pushers alike, driving up to the original places and so on) and that Oliver Stone wrote the script in a hotel in france because he was recovering from a cocaine addiction himself and needed some time off. What makes this movies so great and a classic is the combination of a dedicated great director, an awesome and well-researched script and the convincing performance.
I thought the ending fit the story well, a dramatic downfall for an amazing career...you know the rise and fall kinda thing. It seemed believable too, I wouldn't doubt that if anyone who would have consumed as much cocaine as Montana did in the last couple of minutes, would have gone berzerk and easily take a shot or two without noticing it. I still wonder how Oliver Stone could know so much about street mentality, I think the film character Tony Montana caputures their way of thinking perfectly.
Pretty cool movie. Good ending I thought also. Had the action, but the hero (or anti-hero in this sense) didn't win.
i love scareface one of the best movies ever and hes so cute! and it does make u wanna b a columbian drug dealer lmao
