I know I want to do this, but I cannot decide where! I am more drawn to Asia, for its culture and geography, than to South America. But I'd much rather learn a useful language that I could conceivably learn in a few months than friggin Nepalise or Thai. I know that this is ultimately a question that only I can answer, but maybe someone here can give me some advice?

If youre drawn to Asia, then go to Asia. Youll regret not going, and you cna always check out S America later or learn a useful language on your own.

You do not need to speak the language if you teach English in most Asian countries. Knowing some of the basics is useful though.
If you want to learn a language I recommend Malay/Indonesian. It is quite an easy language to learn and they use the Roman alphabet.

Often that is not needed, unless you want to earn a bit more. Having a white skin is really all they ask for.

depends on where you want to go. for example, you need at least a bachelor's in north korea to get a working visa.

Let us not fight, brother. I just wanted to point out that North Korea is not an option. This to avoid misunderstandings.
