    Hi,
I shroomed about a month ago with my friends, and that was the first time ever i was ON anything. My friends had have been on other stuff , mostly weed, so they are familiar with trippin, while i was not.

It was fun and great, all my friends had fun becoz of halluciantion and eyesights were really fun, but for me, it seemed like it affected my brain, and I was unable to understand what my friends were saying and i felt really retarded.

Is it usual? coz i wasnt able to be part of my friends conversation, and EVERYTHING seemed VERY VERY DIFFICULT. I felt like my senses being very sensitive, and everthing felt very good w/o reason. My eyesight was not that much different from sober. But I had no sense of time, no sense of other people existing on earth other than us, and the sky and trees, pool seemed more beautiful.

Since i was not able to talk with my friends, I was trying to find THE ANSWER what it ALL means. sort of like the ultimate answer. Then I lied down and started crying. I think i was a bit sad but didn't feel bad becoz tears falling to my cheeck REALLY felt good!

The thing is; for a long time( before taking any psychedelics), i have symptoms of depression, not being diagnosed, but i think i do. and reading thru this forum it seems like if you are mentally unhealthy, taking mashie is not very good. Is it true? and if it is so, what kind of after effect could be?

They sound like very common effects of mushrooms. You have nothing to worry about. Also the fact that your friends were experienced with weed would not make them anymore familiar with mushrooms, completely differerent experience. Bear in mind that everybody reacts differently to psychedelics and it seems that you had a much more deep and introspective experience to your friends, many people look for but I can see why you may have just wanted to have fun this time with your friends.
As for the depression I would not be to worried. Although it is not a good idea to use psychedelics when depresses usually when people talk about mental health in relation to them they are more concerned with schizophrenia etc. The fact you have not been diagnosed would indicate (to me) that it has not interfered with your life and would worry me less thatn somebody who is clinically depressed using mushrooms.

For me LSD is a very intellectual experience, but shrooms is a very emotional one strongly linked with memories. I could be laughing my ass off on shrooms one moment, crying like a baby the next, yet I come out feeling better about life.

    thanx for ur post,
i was quite shut-up during trip, coz i couldn't finish sentence.
In early times, i was able to talk, and we were talking about the use of other drug, and my friend mentioned anti-depression med. Then I was saying things like " I can get one coz i have symptoms". Although i never been to clinc, but i had once been crying almost everyday about two month (ewww...) I became unable to make sense after that conversation.
After the trip, i started to think that i might be really depressed n need help. it's something like mashrooms evoked my subliminal mind that i might need help. i am fine, but think that i am not perfectly stable person.

Not quite sure yet..whatever....life goes on.

As far as self-medication goes, LSD is prolly better than psilocybin for treating depression. I've read most of the scientific research done on psychedelics and several dozen investigated the role of LSD as a serotonin antagonist. Serotonin depletion is the main culprit for depression. It turns out that since LSD blocks these receptors, it induces a longterm increase in serotonin which continues months after adminstration. But if you are really depressed, be sure to have a loving and intelligent person to sit with you during the trip.

i think what shrooms do to you is basically turn you insane in a hysterical way for about 5 hours then you suddenly snap out of it. its really hard to be yourself i guess whe n i was on it once i just walked down the street iwth friends saying i love you to everyone. i think its highly enjoyable.
