This is a big issue isnt it in the states. In europe the general direction, though we're not here yet, is the same legal rights as heteros but not the church marriage as thats a religious thing and well the bible does have a different opinion. You should do that, although i guess its being screamed for anyway.

i think not letting gays get married is bullshit cause they dont even chose to be gay, its all natural..the way you flow..i think its stupid for the government to say who can get married and who cant, its not them getting married so why should care? i say go gays and get married.

I don't hate gays,and I never said they shouldn't be allowed to get married,I just think being gay is wrong.
First, gays ARE people. Second, gays probably make up no more nor no less of the population now than in any other time. I say probably because there most likely isn't any way to verify that or to argue against it. Either way, what would be the point? Perhaps there isn't that much historical information about gay people because, back through history, out gay people would probably have be summerily executed. Third, there is a significant amount of evidence, scientifically speaking, that supports the notion that being gay is NOT a choice, it's how one formed while still in the womb. And besides, why would anyone choose a lifestyle that almost guarantees that they will be ostracized by a lot, hated by some, and beat up or killed by others? If it truly was a choice, why would someone choose that?
You know what? You can think being gay is wrong all you want. That is your opinion/belief. The problem is when it is being imposed on other people who DON"T AGREE. I think organized religion (churches) are wrong. But I am not going to tell people not to go to church. Let people be who they are. A gay couple that is happily in love and wanting to get married will not affect you one fucking bit. If you are against gay marriage, don't have one!

I seriously doubt that people "choose" to be gay. Who would want to get made fun of, get beaten up, get denied basic rights on account of their sexuality, even get murdered?? Besides, it's been proven that many animals display homosexual behaviors. The only difference between now and then is that gay people aren't letting themselves be treated as anomalies anymore, they want people to see that they too are people.
