A translation of the Koran for a philosophy student?

I just started reading the Penguin Classics translation of the Koran (Don't laugh too loudly, it's all I could find in a midwestern American bookstore), and I don't care for the layout of it. It's more storybook and less religious text. I'm not looking for a paperback novel.

I'd like to look for a better translation on Amazon.com, but quite frankly I don't know where to begin looking. Could anyone here give me some pointers? Thanks.

Allah doesn't just do around blessing people, Cat. You need to pray to him. And with all your posting, it's clear you're not doing any of that.
