For anyone interested in cheap and reliable web hosting, you might want to check out Slackhost. They start at $3.75 a month, and they've had great support whenever I've had problems (mostly ones I've caused myself).

I know this post is a bit of whoring out a site, but since they did me a favor and made me a good deal on web hosting for the online radio station that I run, I figured I'd mention them here.

It's still spam. If you had made a couple posts before deciding to enligten us about this service I might understand, but no.

But while we're on the subject, my host is FREE and has good service:

That hosting is a bit expensive for the price and services it offers compared to most. Max power most people that pay for web hosting have needs that bravehost probably cant offer. I didnt look but I doubt they offer much space, cgi, php, mysql, domains etc. He runs an online radio station. I guess it all depends on what you need.

That wasn't my point. Someone coming to the forums posting an ad for their first post is spam, period, whethere their service is useful or not.

As for bravehost, they offer a free service, but also two paid plans for $5 and $7 which I think is pretty reasonable. But now I'm spamming. Just visit my website:

    and sign the guestbook.

This is one of the reasons I love serving off my connection. Though we only have 1.5mb down and 256 up, I run Fedora and host mail, web, and some other various servers...nice and ad free..:). We even have a free domain name from no-ip.com (This isn't spamming right since it's free?)

Check my sig links out if you want to see.

    Edit--

Wow I didn't notice this person just registered today...gosh..hate that.

Thanks for the brave host link, just signed up for their free service and got their forum on there as well, all good stuff, shame the free one doesn't support frontpage though...

Most ISP's I have looked at give you 10mb of web space. The odd one only gives 5mb.If that is not enough you can always consider Yahoo's Geocities web space, albiet with drop down ads).

*cough* Well I hate to bust all of your bubbles, but I know of a host that dwarfs even the most expensive plans of all the hosts mentioned on this thread (or at least matches certain aspects, such as SSH access) *and more* in every category that can be thought of. The best part is, I only pay $4.95 a month for it. =)

Warning: For advanced users only, and you must also have/get a domain name.

I'm not trying to spam my host, but they have done a lot for me in the past, and provide excellent service.

    Just as a quick reference:

    25 GB Bandwidth
3 GB of space -- No, that is not a typo, it's indeed Gigabytes.
100 e-mail addresses with unlimited autoresponders, forwarders, etc.
100 FTP accounts and mailing lists.
    Perl 5.8.1, PHP 4.3.4
    15 MySQL databases
SSH Access (secure Telnet, essentially), SSL Management, Cron jobs (sounds dirty, I know ... =P), MIME Type and Apache Handler management, and, heck, I don't even know what else.

Just give them a look if you're looking for premium, affordable hosting. FuitadNet can be found at http://www.fuitadnet.com/. =)

And by the way, I WILL be around to post; this isn't spam, it's just one of the first threads I checked out when I came here. Lucky me. =P
