LINIK: www.michiganguild.org/art_fair_summer.html Why are the ANN ARBOR ART FAIRS hip? They're in Ann Arbor, MI (a town compared to San Francisco, CA) They started in 1960. You can stock up on that "tie-dye" wear, groovy hip necklaces and "psychedelic" art. Some "headshops" display their wares. Some cool, hip, local bands play. There are many street perfomers and maybe "drummers". PIZZA BOB's LSD sub sandwich. Some hip "veggie" resturants. The 60's pizza store. The MAIZE and BLUE DELI. Smoking "herb" is a minor fine (on CITY PROPERTIES, but NOT on the U of M College STATE PROPERTIES). Still, it's safest to smoke herb hidden from the public eye, as this is also a "family" event. This is a huge event and the booths practically cover the entire town! One year, this cool, local band, played at the ANN ARBOR ART FAIRS: Mr. Largebeat. Check out their CD titles: "What's Inside the Box", "Sending Suzie Signals From Saturn", "Hologram Man", "In His Own Little Universe" and "Mystery of the OVNIs: A Tale of UFOs". Trippy stuff! They're a little COSMIC, and UFO-orientated, plus a lttle hippy. Jerry and Grace had some cool "psychedelic" acrylic paintings!!! Some were offered for sale!!! I enjoyed seeing them. I don't know what will be featured this year. "Life is like a box of chocolates. You don't know what you will always get" - Forrest Gump. Some of the art pieces are far-out there, man. Some freaky, like "too realistic" human statuary. Some you'd swear you'd seen in an acid trip!!! However, something for everyone. Don't forget that small street section (South University?) with all of those "causes" booths, like "Legalize Marijuana", and other groups trying to make the world a better place to live in. Most are "liberal" causes, though. Alot more people attend the ANN ARBOR ART FAIRS, than the ANNUAL ANN ARBOR HASH BASH. Ann Arbor is well known for both "hip" events. I try to attend both ANN ARBOR events every year! They're both "hip" and both FUN!!! I'm planning to attend this coming Saturday. Anybody going? See you there! Peace and Love out
