Hi Y'all, I have a question. I'm curious about the abilities of the vacuum sealer. Anyone have opinions on them? Thumbs up? Thumbs down? Are they truly capable of making things have absolutely no smell? Share some experiences or knowledge, please... even if it is put "hypothetically" I've heard good things, but I'm trusting people in here have dealt with them alot lol You know how we love fresh food in here... Peace, islandgurl
I have smelled some really stinky, sticky "things" seep their odor right through a vacuum sealed bag. Maybe a double-bag would help when you are dealing with skunk smells...
Thanks 420, I have a question. Double bag with 2 vacuum bags one inside the other or use a baggie in a vacuum sealed bag? Which do you think would work best? Peace, islandgurl
Vacuum sealed bag inside another vacuum sealed bag, but only for the most "pungent" odors... otherwise, a baggie in a vacuum seal works great. One warning, make sure your herbs are well cured before sealing them up, or they might mold...
I so stand corrected. You're not Dr Phil, you're Dr "Git er Dun"! lmao 3rd time in hours... shoulda seen me today at the school with the kids (we have year round school here and it started today), now THEY can make ya laugh... I love kids
Year-round school??? That really sucks. God, how I used to look forward to summer break, even if most of my summer was spent working on the family farm!
Is this where I say "I bet you were real good at milking the cows when you hit puberty"? lmaooooo BAD, BAD ME! CROSSED THE LINE! Year round isn't bad. At first I didn't think I would like it, but now I can take vacations in October and February when I couldn't before and those times are cheaper than summer. They're off for 6 weeks in the summer and all the same holidays as the rest, but with 6 weeks of breaks in 2 other months (3 weeks each month). The forums been weird today not showing postings out there. I checked to see if you wrote back, 420. LOLOL Now we're buds... I swear that has happened all of my life. Starts out weird and just gets better First smoke is on me, doc lol When you know which day would be best PM me and let me know, ok? I won't be checking the forum after Tuesday night though.
Islandgirl....a friend of mine turned me on to press and seal, I'd fly up to Oregon and bring back a couple good sized sacks during snowboarding season. Just use the ziplock double zip bag and then take GLAD brand press and seal and wrap that around it a couple times....gets me safely to my destination with my medicine all sealed up tried it before without the press and seal wrap and a guy remarked that me and my friend had a some kind of scent on...she tried to say it was sort of perfume....he replied funny....is it called ganja? So....the next trip press and seal came with us. Cheaper than a vacuum sealer too
LOL T-Dawg I've been using that stuff since it came out as I travel quite a bit. It's great, but I need something a little stronger this time as the breads in Amsterdam can be pretty pungent and I wouldn't want a dog to eat mine Peace, islandgurl
Ya know, T-Dawg? I think that would make a wonderful cologne "Essence of NYC Diesel" lolol I know I'D love it! Only problem might be I'd want to smoke or eat you I've used press n seal many times and it does work well for other travel (I think we'd travel well together as we have MUCH in common when we do lol) but not the dam. I actually think it's better to leave there stinking to high heaven of marijuana, especially if you're thinking of carrying anything on your person. I'm dead serious. That way the dog would alert to everything and they would know you were "around" it and that's a good thing coming back from there believe it or not. I could have carried an unbelievable amount on my person had I chosen to do that and made it just fine, no dogs either, and my luggage was tagged for a positive smell. They had gone through EVERYTHING, including opening my box of speculaas (cookies). No worries for me as I had nothing to hide in it. If you are positive for smell but they find nothing in your luggage or carry on, usually they don't mess with you any further. Nobody asked me even one question and everything I owned reeked. Honestly, I don't think they care about the amount you can actually carry because they know it can't be all that much, really. They're looking for the dealer who is bringing BIG amounts back, such as in luggage. NEVER, EVER put anything in your luggage and DO freely admit you've been around it, especially coming from there. I was going to tell them if they asked "Are you kidding? I was in a coffeeshop before I got left this morning!" and then just laugh. No probs even if you just use press n seal I would guess, but I'm not willing to take that chance with the dam. I have a feeling I'm going to reek anyway because I'll be in a Cheech and Chong cloud before I leave
