What is the best child sponsorship website

Hi all Ive been considering child sponsorship as I am blessed with the ability to put aside $1 or so a day. I see the worldvision stuff on tv but am wondering if there are any sponsorship organizations that are better than others. Thank you.

I can't tell for sure, but I think Care is one of the best (or so I've heard). But I know for a fact that worldvision is a huge scam.


I think that what you're doing is great, but have you thought about local help? Some people (like the homeless) get less help than children because their cause (and face) sell less than poor lil kids.

Anyway, helping is helping and that's a great idea, bro. I hope you find the best organization for you.

I'll check out Care thanks for mentioning it, I hear what your saying about worldvision, I went through the website and read their financial statements and they didnt make any sense to me.

With regards to doing something locally I voluenteered then worked in a group home for a period of 18 months. I have been up close and personal helping out locally and it burned me out. I still have a desire to help, but I think having an ocean between those I help will be a welcomed change.

Plus here in Canada your not going to starve to death, or die from dehydration, there are systems in place to ensure that everyone (as long as they choose to) can seek help. Africa has no such systems so I think it'd be nice to make a real difference for 1 child.

if i were you, i would not choose one that is based on a religon. I looked into sponsoring a child too, but when i searched, all i could find was ones by christian orginazations. I have nothing wrong with the christian religon, but these orginazations just use most of your money to give these poor, starving childeren bibles and to build them churches. I dont know about you but i would rather my money that is donated to give them food, clothes and stuff that they would need, than to force religon on them.

 

Ohh for sure I dont want a christian/catholic based one. I went to catholic school for 14 years, I know the brainwashing that goes on.
