I know there has been other threads on this and will probably get flamed for making a new one but the old one was 8 pages long and I didnt want to keep adding to it, so... this is the beginning to a new one. I loved this movie. The first time I watched it I was blazed out of my mind, but I think it added to the experience because I was able to get into the movie so much more. Frank's voice tripped me the fuck out cuz I was watching it on my friend's cousin's expensive ass home theater system. I thought it was put together very well and its such a mind fuck but its good as hell. I've only seen it once and want to see it again though. I'm gonna rent the director's cut I think so I can see which one's better. My favoriite part was when he called Patrick Swayze the anti-christ. That was awesome. As soon as that movie got over I was just left speechless. It's so deep. Anyone else like it?
i really liked it, i had a teacher just like that dumbass health teacher, i'm not sure why liked it so much but i kept on watching over and over
movies would be nothing without a great director but i don't think i've ever seen director's cut to any movie that was better than the the final cut.
I thought the movie was a horrid pile of shit. anyone over 16 who thinks it's original or creative...probably hasn't watched many movies.
i loved this movie... it also left me speechless at the end... idk I guess I was kind of like what the fuck was that... i love it thou
I was drunk when I started watching it and I switched it off halfway through - couldn't make out what the blazes it was about... LOL! I've never given it another bash.... funnily enuff...
I loved it. I've actually never thought to watch it stoned, I should try it sometime. I'd probably understand it better haha. Katie's Ghost, I respect your opinion but there's no need to criticize the ones who do like this movie. I've never seen the director's cut. What's different about it?
well I liked it, and IM over 16!!! lol my ex was obsessed over it, i thought it was alright, i probably lost interest in it because it reminds me of him lol
this movie was amazing my friends and i had a really long debate about whether or not it matters if jena and donnie had sex like yea think about it
haha im over 16 too and i think that movie is pretty good. It does remind me of my ex a lot though, he was so much like Donnie darko..
Liked it when I first saw it. Watched it a few more times and it didn't seem as good. Actually, it seemed really kind of stupid. It wasn't so much the plot (even though it is ultimately pointless with the whole pseudo time travel thing), but the characters that eventually annoyed me. Donnie's girlfriend was alright though. And to the post a few above - yes, I think they did have sex during the party. The way they walked out seemed like they were satisfied/still reeling.
I too didn't care for the director's cut. I thought the mystery surrounding many aspects of the movie was important to the overall effect. The director's cut, like others have said, seemed too much like "cliff notes."
There's going to be a sequel focusing on donnie's little sister. Not the older one, the younger one. It won't have the original director either.
The idea of a sequel, coupled with the "plot" that I just read about it makes me nauseous. Hopefully, the sequel won't try to explore parts of the original.
