I plan on reading Mein Kampf in the next couple of weeks, but unfortunately am running into a few brick walls. My classmates (in my autobiography class) believe that it is being disrespectful to read such a book.

    I disagree.

What are your views? I do not wish to offend anyone, but I can understand how a book written by Adolf Hitler can throw people off.

Also, Is it autobiographical or more philosophical?

I have never read it, but that's because I've never found it - I'd definitely go for it..

I'm not sure if I'd count Hitler's wievs as philosophy, they seem quite illogical to me..
But definitely its the best one to characterize him

It claims to be a political philosophy.

Mein Kampf should be required reading in every school.

Mein Kampf reveals the ultra-conservative, ubber-patriotic preoccupations of patriarchy's latent homo-sexuallity.

Much to close for comfort in today's ultra-conservative patriarchal America.

I haven't found to many places other than Hip Forums where one can find so many others who are ready to except sexually frank discussions.

Sex and Death is fundamental to the origens of civilization and its institutions.

So hopefully it is beginning to sound familiar, and in time it will become second nature for you to be able to strip naked the social drapery of civilization's superego.

Business, Politics and Religion is all Sex by indirect means.

Everything we create, will in someway, reflect repressed childhood sexual development.

Its not pretty, and I understand why we resist connecting the psycho-sexual dots of our lives.

BUT, Hitler and the entire Nazi movement was highly homo-erotic precisely because it released so effectively the repressed latent homo-sexuality of German Authoritarian Patriarchy.

Patriarchy should always raise a red flag!
Seeking Authority should always raise a red flag!
Someday we'll all laugh at ourselves.

i read it when i was in high school. it is a hard read, but if you read it you will see how insane hitler was. he was a monster that carried out a plan of hugh proportions. i was born at the end of world war II and have seen so many documentaries and movies on the holocast, it was a terrible thing.

    Interesting.

So it was more philosophy and less autobiographical.

Then can anyone recommend a good biography on Hitler. Hes a subject I would love to study.

Interesting discussion you have going, but to be completely honest I dont understand most of it!

Hitler was a State-Capitalist (Fascist), and like all Fascists, dedicated to the total destruction of Socialism.

The State becomes a Capitalist tool, and those with the tool wipe-out those without.

Labor is Nationalized, and un-employment becomes un-patriotic.

The name National-Socialism (NAZI), is used in a propaganda effort to redefine, in the minds of the Masses, the then powerfully popular word Socialism.

To redefine Socialism as the Nation collectively mobilized for success in the global Social Darwinist competition for total world domination.

Capitalist industry and commerce, cleansed of competing Jewish influence, is not suprisingly, the big winner in this Social Darwinist competition.

The only similarity between the Social Darwinism of the Nazis, and Socialism, is that they both rely on collectively mobilized social-forces.

Your right, in an ironic sense, 'Hitler died for our sins.'

If it's so obvious, why am I the only one willing to talk about it?

Because it's our Ego's job to make it anything but obvious.

In a competitive hierarchy deception is the Ego's most effective strategy for Survival and Reproduction.

The Ego's job is literally to repress our overt psycho-sexual energy from our conscious mind, submerging it into our sub-conscious so that we have little conscious understanding of the submerged sexual pressures motivating us.

Thus our real motivations become successfully covert to everyone including ourselves.

In that way we can better hide our true motivations from the sight of competitors by draping our sexual energy as everyday business, politics or religion.

And we can't sell anyone else on this deception until we've sold ourselves.

    You want some credit?

I'll give you credit for a good sense of humor, and good intuitive instincts.

But if you want me to believe that you already know about how the power of repressed subconscious motivations are revealed in everyday life, then you're out of luck.

Because I suspect that, despite your good intuitive instincts, you hadn't considered it.

I suspect that's what really annoys you.

    But that's good.

    It means we're getting somewhere.

I looked it up and got mixed results.

In "The Nazi Voter: Social Foundations of Fascism in Germany", it states that the income discrepency had increased between the highest and lowest income catagories by 1939.

However, in "Hitler's Social Revolution", the author says that by 1938 the lowest income catagory dropped from 63% down to 49% of the population.

Yet on the same page the same author admits that between '34 and '38 income for the lowest income catagory increased a modest 5%, while income for the highest income catagory increased an in-modest 445%.

Still, I overstated the case when I said National Socialism was State Capitalism.

I've been reminded that Business had to serve the interests of Nationalist Mobilization, or face involuntary restructuring.

i'm sorry but i can't believe what i'm reading. hitler was a insane egomaniac. he was bi-polar and had extreme depression all of his life. his whole reason for exterminating the jews was to steal all of their riches. many jews in germany and other countries were rich. everything they had was stolen for the 3rd reich and they were put in prisons and starved to death, beaten, abused, raped, their children murdered all for money. i can't sit back and read that hitler was extremely intelligent, he was monster that nearly destroyed the jewish nation. and the world stood by and watched it happen without stopping it.

I can't imagine anything more annoying than two insecure jerkoffs, arguing on a message board, going back and forth in an intellectual debate trying to show everyone who has the bigger IQ. It kind of reminds me of guys in the locker room during high school who would argue over who had the bigger dick.

Angel, intelligence does not mean moral anymore than denseness meand amoral.
I jnow lots of decent slow folks. Many on this board.
Brilliance often NEEDS to be tempered with morality.

Anyway, a local lefty jock on the one and only so called lefty station here in Denver said the in the book, Hitler said his concept of (not execution of) the Shoah/Holocaust/ devouring was based on/ taken from US treatment of Native Americans.
Sadly, I wasn't the one listening and my sweetie came back with this question: Is the jock right? was the plan concept based on US treatment of First Nations people, or is that comparison after the fact?

This is a either/or question, please.

    Yes it was.

Hitler saw the spread and growth of Anglo-Saxon Culture into a continental super-power, through the racial psychology of manifest destiny, as a necessary blue-print for German racial survival into the 21st century and beyond.

Like wise, Hitler also saw the growth of the Russian Empire across the Urals and Asia all the way to the Pacific as a similar blue-print for the German future.

Hitler saw no secure future for the German race unless they could become a continental super-power.

I read part of it in a book store, because I am not gonna buy that piece of shit. And to be honest, it was really bad. Like, it was slow moving and just basically Hitler's rhetoric on paper.

    Definitely.

Hitler was obsessed with Germany becoming a vast continental power like America.

With continental powers like America in existence, Hitler did not see any future for small nations like Germany to ever be able to realize their potential.

Moreover, what America did to the Indigenious Peoples of the New World is what Hitler wanted to do to the Slavic Peoples and their vast lands to the East.

Hitler called the policy, 'Living-Space', (Liebenstrom).spelling?

Your friends are ruled by fear. Tell them Hitler hated smoking, so they MUST go out and buy cigarettes.

Mein Kampf - free at http://www.hitler.org/ - makes all its real points in the first 150 pages or so. The rest... well, it's not respectful or disrespectful to read it, but there's not much point.

I would also read the 25 Points of the NSDAP to get a feeling of where Hitler was coming from.

Hi! Hitler was a very intelligent man? I can not agree. First Point: His military career ended as a Gefreiter who used to be in the trenches during the 1WW. He never achieved a career as a officer. that reason leads to the destruction of the 3. Reich in a way with the best use for succeeding generations. second point: hitler was a jackass and jerk in school. his marks are amazing bad which fits to the pseudoscientific believe in antisemitism, rascism and nationalism. He was influenced by a autodictatic literature of that time for some months or about two year, when he stayed in vienna. Third Point: he was one of the craziest person during human history. his work led to war and genocide. his systemetical destruction of state and democracy speaks against the opinion of liberty, fraternity and equality.

Are you sure that Hitler was a intelligent person? Otto von Habsburg wrote that the way in which Mein Kampf was written was stupid and stubborn and in any kind no literature.

I mind today the first time, that Mein Kampf is stuff in highschool. I live in Austria and here is the circulation of this book forbidden. There is only one license to publish it. Its a book with a lot of commentaries
