Anyone else a fan of the show? It's older.. filmed in 2000. 2 couples, one older, one younger were sent to live in the middle of nowhere (Argylel, Manitoba, Canada, to be exact). With them they had a couple horses and the type of tools that the typical Pioneer would have had with them. They have a year long budget of around $500 1920's Canadian dollars. They have to survive as the Pioneers had to. They have to build their own houses using what is available on the land and a couple axes. Its an amazing show to watch, especially if you have ancestors who were Pioneers!
i thought it was pretty cool i remember one on tvo that was a family doing the same thing, but my favorite was one also on tvo that was a throw back to the edwardian period and the family had to live like a british family in edwardian times it might have been pbs though i love shows where you learn
yeaaaaaah. we had to watch it for some class when I was in grade eight and I LOVED it. I got so attached to Alana and Frank. All reality shows should be like that. It's funny to think a lot of people on this forum are working up to living like that too
