Hello, just to say you have a mis-idea of hippies... Well you are not a hippie for doin weed and morning glory, hippies are much more than that (and keep in mind, a lot of them aren't on any entheogenic or psicotropical subtances). Hippie is a way of life people choose, not a life of habbits. Its a life of true freedom, peace, unity, respect, love! Those four words consist on the basis of a world as a hippie ''sees it''.
I think you are not old enought to consider what you want in life, and what your true values are. Smoking pot won't make you older for others eyes. Please try to understand that this is only me trying to make YOU understand a little bit more of yourself.
If one day you feel the hate contained in this world, feel like you're a slave, like a prisioner, like being manipulated and you want to change it...well my friend... wellcome, you are a hippie.

I just wanna say one thing and I really hope it wont bother you, thats the last thing i want, seriously. I'll just say this, the "hippie" you must carry inside, not outside, just keep that in mind.

~But I'm moving to Salem, Oregon next month to study ART and Spanish in college
~I am very into all the typical "hippie" things... Nature, animals, good music, trying to change the world for the better...
~I am all about peace and love and happiness
~When I was in high school, I helped start an Animal rights club and I was involved in the peace club. Haha. When the recuiters would come to my school, we would make an anti war table next to them and would play bob dylan songs. It was lovely.
~I want to travel the world and see as many things and meet as many people as i possibly can.
~I'm a libra :]
~Vegan
~I love camping and hiking and just being outdoors.
~I love going barefoot and I NEVER wear shoes
~I love tattoos and piercings... I have one tat and 5 piercings.
~I'm currently in the process of growing my hair longer (its to my chin) so i can dread it!
~I am obsessed with tie dying.

Anyway, that is enough about me.


Me and her basically said the same things about ourselves except I mention that I smoke pot occasionally.But people just assume that I just am trying to be a hippie.Your saying that if I listen to the Beatles and play hackey sack that iam not a hippie.I guess I thought being a hippie was about love and peace which thats pretty much me.I want to change the world not be a prisoner in this world so full of hate.Believe me if there is any people on this site that know what it is like to feel hated against its the young kids on here .kids at school are not to friendly towards me definatly were I live .You think there is a age limit on people hating you because of your believes.Iam more then just some kid that smokes pot and says hey can I join your group.I really do believe in peace and love thats all positive for me.I never thought smoking pot and doing morning glories makes you a hippie I was just telling you a little about myself.I guess reading that post now kinda does make me a sterotype hippie but I was just telling you some basic things about myself.I probaly did sound like one of those kids that listen to john lennon and think they are a hippie.I take drugs for relaxation and enjoyment with my friends we dont smoke and start saying o yea man were totally hippies its pretty stupid that alot of peoples think hippies just do drugs I wasnt saying what I thought hippies do I was telling you what I do sometimes.

i guess a lot of folks would call me a hippy, then and now. but i always considered myself an individual. my philosophy was perhaps influenced by many others, but i never subscribed to groupthink.
in the old days, i was very idealistic. i believed in peace, love, brotherhood, sharing.
experience, and a study of history, as well as an awareness of my present surroundings, as a human among other humans,has made me more realistic.
i never cared for the drug culture as such. too much emphasis on harmful substances. i liked pot and psychedelics, thought they helped me to understand myself and others. but i have seen what hard drugs do to people and it isnt pretty.
there was something in the movement worth preserving, however. and that was the hope for a better world.
many of us tried in a peaceful manner to provide that for the younger generations.
and we got our heads busted for our trouble.
we failed miserably.
the world is more dangerous and violent than ever.
so, we can never find peace in the world, but if we can find peace within ourselves, thats an accomplishment.
i have done what i could to create my own peaceful microcosm.
i live in a peaceful environment, in a rural setting. i sell used books for a living. not a lucrative occupation, but one i can feel good about.
i do what good i can, but mostly i endeavor to do no harm.
i love animals and nature. i am not religious or superstitious, nor do i believe in anything metaphysical.
life, study, introspection, and observation have molded my present philosophy and stripped away the fabrications imposed by others.
now if i could only find the perfect mate, my lifelong quest for the ultimate happiness would be complete.
for you young uns, an abbreviated version of the cornerstone of my philosophy, taken from shakespeare:
be true to yourself, and you cannot then be false to any man.

Hello, I'm Gina. but everyone calls me kitty.. that all started in 4th grade.. long story but anyways..
I'm 16 and I'm from Pa. I was really excited when I saw this site because for a long time I've been looking for people like me. I'm a really laid-back and caring person.

If things go the way I plan I'll be out of school the end of my 11th grade year and then I plan to take off a year or two and completly devote myself to rock the earth, or travel to many places. Then when I return I would like to go to The art institute of pittsburgh for fasion and retail marketing, and open a store on a boardwalk.

In the past year I've been trying to help out around my school with things like littering, recycling, that kind of stuff. I currently work at an ice cream store, I meet a lot of intresting people there, but I have to say that I'll never eat ice cream again.

Humm, lets see.. I play the guitar, and I really like to sing. I knitt and sew, and I love to design things. I really like to hemp with my friends, and we have our "daily activities" if you catch my drift..
well.. I think that's about it for now..

This is actually a repeat post, but seeing as I haven't been active in over 4 months. Hmm.

Well, I'm Murph or Murphy, a kid from Maine, in the lovely Northeastern USA. I am a practioner of the martial arts, an artist, philosopher, rebel, revolutionary, thinker, lawbreaker, cynic, dissedent, unbeliever, heretic, and many other things.

I am not of the "normal persuasion" percieved by the majority of this country. I am an enigma.

I am strongly against the current war in the Middle East, both by the Unites States and Israel. I am a supporter for a United Ireland, and Sinn Fein. I am a patriot, believing this country is only a shadow of what it could be.

I am an advocate for the decriminalization and legalization of the plant Cannabis Sativa, aka
marijuana, mary jane, herb, ganja, bud, green, pot, smoke, dope, etc.

Music is a large part of my being. Everything from Nat King Cole, to NOFX.
Anarcho and Crust punk music is one of my favorite genres, Crass being high on my band list.

Jello Biafra is a man everyone should listen to, even more so than John Lennon at times.

Drawing is a passion, along with painting, neither which I have had much time for lately.

I plan on attending college in a year, hopefully in Burlington, Vermont.

Hey, I'm Jeff from UT! I'm a jazz/funk/bluegrass musician who is influenced primarily by free jazz, world, blues and classic rock. I haven't been able to find a lot of hippies where I live, but I'll be moving to DC in a month to go to college so hopefully things will improve. I live my life with observant eyes to the world around me, but I am an idealist because I believe mankind, no matter how corrupt by power struggles, has an inifinite capacity for improvement. I guess my desire to make a change in the world is what drives me.

hello people!! my names maz, i'm 17 and an art student, which means basically i sit around all day scribbling and singing to myself. i live in the uk near oxford and i am currently on a mission to stop a big vivisection lab being built!!! grrrrr!!

i love to firespin, im not too great at the moment but its all good fun, ive seen 7 year olds whop out some amazing stuff whilst im jus stood there speechless, i think they spent the whole of winter getting one over!!!

i am vegan and i love the lifestyle... i dont preach veganism, but it would be nice to see moo-cows and pigs roaming free. it would also be nice not to rely so much on another species.. but heh its never gonna happen!!

I'm reading this book called Drop City, and it describes what i want to find. i want to live in a place where everyone loves one another, and we all smoke pot, and we work together, and yeah.
