backpacking in BC, need advice, tips, etc...

hai all,
im from winsdor, ontario... in a few days (on short notice) my girlfriend and i are gonna be hopping on a bus to vancouver. we want to do some camping and hiking and stuff, and just generally be fuckheads and do fun stuff. wheres some cool places we should visit? anyone have contact info or locations of communes or the like that we could stay at for a few nights in or around vancouver or victoria? wheres the best places for camping and hiking? (etc etc...) anyone live out there who wouldnt mind us crashing on your floor for a night? we are very gentle and calm people.. hehehe.

just a few good sites i found when preparing for a trip to BC. there are lots more sites. im not going until next summer. there's also mind only b&b, which i'd love to check out, except the price sucks. it's smoke friendly, looks like the most awesome place. i think the site is mindonly.net. downfall- upwards of $100 a night. not somewhere you can stay for any significant amount of time.

anyways, have fun, hopefully this stuff will be of use. that is, if you havn't already left.

the tickets were $132.75 each. greyhound special 'go anywhere' fare. it's only one way, and you have to book 14 days in advance, but thats really cheap for what it is... 3 days straight on a bus isn't my idea of a good time but im bringing lots of metal cd's so i should be alright
