Buying and Island

My friend and I were talking, and we were thinking that if we get like 50 people to put up like 20-100 grand we could buy an island in the carribbean or somewhere else in the world. We were wondering if we did that would we be able to just grow fields and fields of marijuana on the island and just come down there and smoke whenever we wanted too? Or would local laws still apply?

 

I doubt 50 stoners would have that kind of cash to spare..dont get me wrong, it is possible, but unlikely.

 

Laws would still apply, it's basically like owning a big piece of land on the mainland, except its an island.

haha good plan, but i dont think you can just go out and buy an island. especially with that much money. I know richard branson owns his own caribbean island, but hes a billionaire so for him its no problem

richard branson, the owner of virgin had his island on cribs, and he said in the beggning when he bought it 30 years ago it cost him 32 million to buy from the government, and this was a like 150 by 200 foot island

 

Hes saying to get 50 people to throw down 20-100 grand, meaning an island he saying is about 500 grand..not 100...dumb stoners.

That means that he owns that and can do whatever he wants with it, because he bought it directly from the government but you can definitely buy islands for what I guess is a pretty decent price. For Example

 

yea, a few of those could actually fit into ur expense range and easily support chilling space for at least 50 people. i've actually thought about this a lot before.... with the money... it would be perfect

I think it'll be much simpler to just save some cash and buy a some growing equipment...

 

Yeah I think a more realistic option would be to get into the real estate game, buying houses, renting them or if you choose to grow the worlds most misunderstood plant then so be it. The problem with these islands that I see, are that the ones in any normal pricerange (1-5 million dollars) have no elevation, like 50-100 feet max. With the ice caps meltings it would be a pretty shitty investment if in 15 years theyre underwater. Real estate though is a pretty safe bet.

yea i would always talk about buying myself an island when i was like 12 you can get some for under 500k in new zealand or that area u can even buy them on e bay.
