cruel bastards ..........animals should test humans man .......se how you would like it if some animal shoved sand and cement up yer snotter 7 days a week .
The biggest difference between man and animal is greed. Animals don't judge the world by the amount of possessions they have. Only man does that. And we call ourselves superior.
right on gardener ........superior personally i reckon animals are far more superior .........man is full of greed "ego" self righteosness "and full of shit (junk food/ brain defficensy ) and we have to test animals for our mistakes .animals also have feelings " maybe humans are animals and animals are humane . for a example WHEN WOZ THE LAST TIME ANYONE SAW A DOG SMOKING A CIGGY ? ciggies are man made "so why do we have to test them on animals ? ..........its all bollocks man . ........and what fuckin chemicals are in shampoos ? ......do they cause brain tumors etc etc.
Actually, some animals do. Birds have been known to do that - especially male birds seeking a mate. The female will mate with a male only if it has the bigger, shinier nests. Magpies do this? But I see your point. Animals need no physical possessions to feel complete.
I am against animal testing due to the fact that it is extremely cruel and in the majority of cases unnecessary. The majority of testings are done to prove obvious points (many psycological) or just to solidify other points. Also, most of the actual product testing just involves trivial crap like an alternative to a certain brand of lipstick. Most of the tests, animals are not even compliant with human boundaries for illness (mainly the physical illness and disease testing.) For instance, in testing the effects of AIDS on certain apes, NO negative effects were noted. Obviously if we are trusting all of our medicine on animals i would be very worried- which is why I have not had medicine in over a year (not even asprin). Question everything, trust nothing!
Also, as Peter Singer notes in his book, Animal Liberation- the only groups of beings subjected to formal testing are females, animals, and minorities- i.e. not the white greedy rich bastards controlling all of the funding. Coincidence? I think not.
Exactly man. We feel we are superior to these animals and that somehow entitles us to use them as mere items to further our own lives in such trivial ways. It is what many philosophers refer to as speciesism which drives this train of thought. Basically, humans feel that our entire species is on a higher level of value and more deserving of having our rights being considered than animals of similar intelect and equivolent nervous systems. It is truly a pathetic act of ignorance to believe in this garbage and base our system of granting beings rights upon it. All sentient beings should have equal consideration and be granted the basic right to avoid pain at the hands of a free thinking, "ethical" human being.
I've got three words, fuck your beliefs, I don't care if you think animals are on the same level as humans. I've yet to see a dolphin think of something like differential equations. Until that day arrives, I will consider myself the top of the food chain, with the power, and the right, to do as I please to lower life forms.
obviously you are just too young to understand.. I'm sure if you sign a waiver you can try the new hairspray, cigarette, rat poison first. think bro!
Animal testing doesn't work eh? Here are just a few of the successful things resulting from animal tests: Insulin Smallpox vaccine Polio vaccine Common cold remedies surgery(all doctors practice on animals first) organ transplants(the very first transplants were performed on rabbits) Pain medications Skin grafts for burn victims(tested on animals first) That Tylenol you took recently was tested on an animal. That shot of morphine you recieved for a broken bone or surgery or burn was tested on an animal prior to it's distribution. If you are a healthy, living, person in a Western culture right now on the computer..you owe your life to animal testing in one way or another. Something suffered and died so you can live whether you like it or not. Don't like it? End your life.
Animals were put on this planet to benefit mankind. They are after all a lower lifeform. I for one would prefer animals are tested during the development of new drugs rather than humans. Of course there are always some folks who will volunteer to be tested. I am not in that catagory. Peace 7.65
I like the way that Cynical Otter fellow ? thinks. He's a fart smeller...I mean a smart feller. Peace 7.65
I'm an apologist when it comes to animal testing. I know that it's necessary for our day to day lives - yet I would like to see it become a thing of the past soon. They have some regulations on it, perhaps stricter regulations is the next step? Something along the lines of compassionate testing. I know I am gonna get things thrown at me for saying this...
some things i'm not to opposed to such as cures for cancer, cause that like twenty animals die for every test but if they find the cure through animal testing that would save millions of lives but i'm strongly opposed to the testing of deodorants and shampoos and other such beaty products. why should animals suffer so that we can smell a tiny bit mre pleasant.
As a teacher said to me once smart man! There are 6 billion humans .... why are they testing on animals? He compared that number to I think Chipamizes wich was like 655 (something close to a small amount.) And you know I think that if we didn't do all these things to the world, want things we don;t need there wouldn't be this issuse. I mean do we really need those cleaning products when we have vingear, baking soda and slat? I mean those are marvolues cleaning products that work amazing better than the chemicals!
I could be persuaded to institute tougher testing policies for things like cosmetics. But if it could save one homeless drug addicted person with aids life, then animal research is already justified. The benifits of animal research have saved millions of lives in america, and countless around the world. I am viamently aginst stopping animal research as long as disease afflicts humanity. I will take this challenge to anyone who believes that animal reasearch should be banned. I will spend a week visiting a research facility where rabbits or monkeys are kept in observable scenarions and injected with drugs. And one of you who opposes it vists one of the innumerable womens refugee centers in the Democratic Republic of Congo for a week. Where women in the midst of negotiations to stop a horrible war are gang rapped by men in government uniforms. This means that in the DRC, AIDS is particularly rampant for sub-saharan Africa. Look at these victims of war and rape who are now dying slowly from AIDS while their children may grow up with the same affliction... and weigh their lifes aginst rabbits in a lab. Imagine speaking their language and appologizing to them for their sacrifice, and I will appoligize to the rabbit. Is that an extreme example? Not really, the development of life saving drugs has the most potential benifit towards the populations around the earth who are most desperate. As long as horrible disease afflicts the most helpless of our planet, I will support animal research from the bottom of my being.
Yes, unfortunatly the medicine was so expensive for so long, and the battle to create afordable AIDS medication took far to long. http://mondediplo.com/2003/12/19aids This is by far the silver bullet for AIDS in Afirca and SE Asia, but new testing will one day lead to new more effective medication, and ways to make this medecine more cost effective. Medical research on animals isn't to blame for the slow process of getting affordable AIDS medication to people in subsaharan Africa. The pharmecutical corparations, governments, and international intellectual property laws had a lot to do with it. AISA isn't the only medication avialable from animal research of course, far from it, that was just an example. I could give dozens more, that just seemed the most effective.
