I don't think this question has a straight answer. Normal means not deviating very much from the average, and abnormal is the opposite. I think everybody has relatively normal and abnormal/unique behaviors and traits, it's just to what extent they are normal and abnormal/unique. Take me for example. I'm a normal human being with some normal behaviors and traits and abnormal behaviors and traits. I voted no to the poll because I do have some moderate to severely abnormal traits you don't see in the average person. But this is tricky to say because I don't know everyone else's unique traits or, hell, maybe the average person is supposed to have traits that separates him/her from everyone else. (I should've said yes to the poll, now that I think about it) That isn't a bad thing at all. But if this is true then why do so many people, as a society, think alike? Maybe we shelve our unique traits to be part of the group, which forms what we call the norm: a collection of mainstream ideas created in the minds by almost every individual that makes up society. So when the poll asks "are you normal?", I say yes. When the poll asks "do you fit the definition of what society thinks is normal?", I say no. People nowadays seems to celebrate uniqueness, but people are full of shit. People are always going to look at uniqueness/abnormality in a negative way or as something that needs to be fixed in order to conform to society's image of a "normal" person. It's what humans do. We're just more aware of what we do now and suppress our primative urge to outcast what is abnormal. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks all this, so I'll shut up now.
why so many people in a society appear to think (and often do act) alike is called enculturation. that's generaly a fancy cultural antropological term for defacto, ambient, subconsciounse, brainwashing. =^^= .../\...
Yes, I'm normal. The normalest. Much more normal than everyone else. I'm so normal I've never been labelled in my entire life. You know why I've never been labelled? I'm so middle of the road people are effing (yea I said it) scared of even trying to put me in a group that might be somewhere away for the absolute central point; Which is where I am. No one is nerarly as normal as me, I am abnormally normal.
well, well, well... who's normal now! the 'non-normals' seem to be more normal than the normals (if normal is defined by the majority number of people belonging to a group)
I think I'm pretty average but everyone else seems to think I'm weird. So my question is, do you want to know if we think we're normal or if everyone else thinks we're normal? Because that would change it compeletly.
precisely only it's not just now, it's always has been and always will be. there is nothing normal about the pretense of normality unless we really did evolve from grazers instead of omnivours =^^= .../\...
on the other furry pseudopod, i am absolutely what is 100% normal for me, however totaly off the wall that might be for anyone else. and so is everyone else. whatever their form or condition might be. =^^= .../\...
What do u mean ,exactly, by normal? If u mean like mentally normal, then my answer is yes. Otherwise, I think that everyone has something that mkles him different or unique. So,I assume that the "normal" you are talking about doesnt exist.
Here is the Harvard University 'Normal Test'.Take this to discover whether you are normal or not: Example 1:Is this normal behaviour?: Watering the garden flowers & trimming the hedge. Example 2:Is this normal behaviour?: Walking around your garden in only a tutu ,watering the weeds & draining all the water out of your neighbour's swimming pool. .........Which is the correct 'normal behaviour'?........
some psychologist chick said i'm the most normal person she met.everyone else disagrees.did i mention that i lied to her and she wore hemp and seashells as jewelry?
