My friend and I have found ourselves in Michigan for the summer and stumbled upon the Michigan Peace Fest. I've never heard of any of the bands, but I'm thankful for at least some sort of happening in this state. Anyone going? Or ever even heard of it?

Looks like a decent line-up. I've never been to the Peace Fest...

    Welcome to Michigan, though :)

I never heard of the MICHIGAN PEACE FESTIVAL, until WaitingForTheSun posted this thread. Thanks for this "hip tip"! And it's been going on in Michigan for 14 years! You learn something new everday. Everyone don't know all the events that are going on in their own states!

I didn't go because I just learned about it, now, and July 16th (yesterday) was the last day of this event. There's always next year! With this in mind, I'll post some website info, and links, in preparation for next year's MICHIGAN PEACE FESTIVAL:

This year's (2006) MICHIGAN PEACE FESTIVAL, was on July 14, 15 and 16 - at the Willow Ranch (1/2 mile north of LACOTA, MI, 8 miles east of SOUTH HAVEN, MI and 30 minutes from Kalamazoo, MI). It's not too far from the shores of Lake Michigan. It's about a 3 hour drive from DETROIT, and about a 2 hour drive from CHICAGO, IL.

The cost is $25 for the weekend which includes camping, music and good company.

"I went to the Michigan Peace Fest in Lacota, MI. It was three days of music, food, camping and lots of Cannabis. I'm from Chicago, and let me tell you, it was great to get away from the urban life. The stars were amazing on Saturday night, as I sat there smoking herb that cost $400 an ounce. Good times. :D P.S. The GENERAL is in the house.....Smoke a doobie....."

Haha, nice job man. Too bad you couldn't go. The place was a trip! Just on some guys huge piece of property, we camped with all the bands that were playing. Very "grassroots" as they put it. And you shoulda seen peoples eyes when they saw our Colorado licence plate. I mean, the place is in the middle of the country. Crazy, random happening. I know I'll be there next year.
