I agree that no one is really "sane" ... HOWEVER --

I am pretty close to insane, both legally and in the way I AM, but can "pass" in social situations. My poet-friend IS insane (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc) and just barely passes muster. We are deeply in love, and neither of us could stomach the thought of being with a "saner" person -- because YES! Sane is BORING!

Crazyhouse love is some of the best there is ... they keep us in straightjackets for a reason. ;)

You're 17. Everyone's crazy. Anything a bit abnormal is "crazy". Believe me, a crazy person and a "normal" person, whatever that is, can be wildly in love.

I am beginning to think they can't ... I am borderline crazy (sometimes further over the border than others ;)) and I have awesome if fucked-up relationships with other crazies ... but sane people tend to patronize and dismiss me.

Oh,definetely. It just strongly varies from person to person. I personally have the overwhelmingly large ability to love someone strongly lacking in sanity. I have dated 2 people of extremely questionable sanity. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there.

Some people, however can't deal with insanity. It is too bizarre for them. Some people don't understand how paranoia works...for example, my ex boyfriend is very paranoid and he dated a girl who didn't understand why he didn't trust her. She took it personally. It can be exhausting to be in a romantic relationship or even a friendship with someone who hallucinates regularly, or suffers from paranoia, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder...etc. The 'sane' person just has to keep an open mind and try to be understanding and not take things personally, and have alot of patience...

    Good luck.

I think it really depends on the way that you are insane. :)

    Seriously.

There's the "You're SO not right! Come here you!" kind of crazy, and then there's the "You're F***in' NUTS! Get the H*** Away!"

It just depends on what the other person likes and can tolerate.

It's wierd how people fall out of love for the same reasons they fell in love in the first place. Alot of men have fallen for my spontanaiety(sp), free spiritedness, creativity, emotional nature, not-so-normal appearance and general lack of sanity. In the end though if they are straight they tend to want a straight womyn. It seems like not alot of guys can deal with a girl like me.
