I usually smoke blunts and I have a 24" KAOS Quadros, but sometimes you are away from your stash and just don't have access to such things; in times like those, one is forced to improvise and use their inner ganja-nuity.

It's ironic, we're doing all we can to alter our mental health, and then you shoot back with that.

It's a concept I came up with while I was in basic training.

hm yes, you see smoking cannabis doesn't harm parts of your brain in ways that dodgy chemicals from smoking through aluminium could. this guy says he still uses them even though he's aware of the chemicals he is breathing in and also fully aware that it can allegedly lead to alzheimers. there's a bit of a difference between getting high off weed and being aware that you're breathing in smoke that can harm you in terms of care for mental health, doncha think? I'm assuming you're talking about me. So....in response to your post; I am not worried about it too much, because I don't see myself living long enough for it to make any difference. Unless, of course, I get alzheimers before I'm 40, because I don't predict I will live much longer than that, I'm sorry to say. Ehh, whatever.....I'm not worried about it.

Also, just so you know, anyone who uses those little metal pipes sold at headshops are taking the same risk, as those pipes are made from aluminum.

yeah, it'll either smoke too fast, or it just won't smoke at all and it will just be a waste of time and lung energy.

everybody is freaking out to the idea of inhaling burnt aluminium.
Maybe, what you guys dont know is that everytime you smoke shisha(hookah) the same exact thing, as if you were smoking out of an aluminium foil is happening.
Dont know about where you guys live, but here in egypt shisha (hookah) is quite popular. I've been smoking it,weekly for about 3-4 years myself (i'm 18).
I'm not trying to say that it's healthy or harmless to smoke out of aluminium. I am just saying that since I know 50 and 60 old ppl who smoke shisha daily and are still kicking and mentally healhy, then I dont think that it could do you that much of a harm if you smoke out of a aluminium bowl everyonce in a while...

i don't know much about the subject and cannot name any studies to support this....but as to my limited understanding, there -have- been studies showing that alzheimer's patients have high levels of aluminum in them....(perhaps any aluminum is unnatural; i don't know...told you my knowledge was limited)

initially this caused people to believe that aluminum may build up in the body over time and be a cause of alzheimers. the aluminum may be introduced in small, trace quantities through contact (mostly of food and beverages) contained in aluminum storage containers and foil, through using aluminum in their work, or being around very hot aluminum often (most things tend to give off varoius vapors and fumes at high heat - i suspect aluminum pipes may very likely expose you to much more aluminum than drinking a can of pop)

however, further studies, as far as i am lead to believe, demonstrated that there is no conclusive evidence that high levels of aluminum may be symptoms of alzheimer's rather than a cause of the disease. this may very well be the case, but it doesnt, to my understanding, completely eliminate the possibility that aluminum still COULD lead to the disease.

for this reason, and for several other reasons, i choose to avoid aluminum for a smoking material, and tend to avoid aluminum canned food and drinks for the most part. alzheimers is a really bad disease....even if its not the cause, it is apparently linked in some way. i choose not to risk it too much, though i'm not convinced enough to avoid aluminum entirely and if someone offers to smoke me up out of an aluminum bowl, i'm not likely to decline simply on the grounds of what his pipe is made of.

however, aluminum cans should NEVER be used for pipes, and i WILL refuse to smoke from one. on top of being shitty pipes, and being made of aluminum (very thin aluminum at that) they have a coating of paint AND a coating (sometimes two) of plastic. it tastes bad, and its really bad for your health regardless of the aluminum, its usually a rather inefficient pipe when all is said and done....nothing except the price is good about it.

i'd sooner try to smoke from an apple or a cork bowl than out of a pop can.

ideally i'd smoke from glass or a good vaporizer....second place is a good joint, then a blunt or metal pipe....

I have scraped the foil off of wrigley's chewing gum wrappers and used the paper. It doesn't stick at first, but after a couple of hits, it gets kinda resinated and sticks fine.

orbit gum wrappers are small but they work. idk if there is anything bad about them tho...
and they're really small so id probably make a vaporizer

google that or whatever, the vaporizers are pretty easy to make and they work well

I agree with Nesta, too, but in a pinch, I'll use a can as a last resort. Of course, I haven't needed to in years. I've got an aluminum pipe, which I also haven't used in a long time, after attaining much better tools. But if a can is all I have, and I want to get high, I'll do it.

About the aluminum thing... where I live we all make screens for pipes out of aluminum foil when we can't get any real screens... so... I don't know what that means but Alzheimer's isn't especially common here or anything

Well, either way, the "soda can pipe" holds a special place in my heart because that is how I smoked the first time I got high.
