Is fleece good for quilting? I'm thinkin about making a jean/fleece quilt. What do you think?

Some fleece works well for quilting. My mother is making a baby quilt for me from fleece right now.

I don't know if a fleece/denim quilt would work. Don't the fabrics choosen have to have near the same weight? Fleece is pretty light, denim pretty heavy.. the denim would pull the fleece out of shape, woudln't it? Maybe you could line the fleece with some other fabric to make it heavier?

I don't know, my sister in law made me a flannel/denim quilt. that's where I got the idea of maybe fleece/denim. flannel seems pretty light to me...I dunno.

I kinda got sidetracked and never picked it back up.... LOL
All I really need to do is attach the top (shown) to the fleece and come up with some sort of border.

oh, I see. so the fleece is going to be the soft bottom layer...I was thinking about making a checkerboard pattern with my fleece and denim and then using it for the bottom layer too.

the problem with fleece / denim is one is a knit one is woven so you may run into trouble sewing them together as jersey''s stretch when you sew them. It's not impossible to do but may take more time.

yeah, it's so nice. she made it for my baby, so it's kinda small, but I can still get under it with her pretty comfortably...;)

Flannel is a weave, so it's not stretchy and could handle the denim, although it will wear out before the denim does....
Fleece is a knit so the denim would be too heavy to mix with it...it would stretch and bubble...

    Hope this helps..:D
