yah i am on lithium, dont really like it But does anyone else on here who has bi-polar and is on meds take them then stop taking it because they miss the feeling??? Because i am very good at stopping my meds, i dont know if its good or not, should i just say fricken take them Man i dont know Need help Rosie Cheeks
Hey, I was in your boat. I hated taking meds because the up feelings are so great. But then I tried Lamictal. It's really great. No side effects or anything. I also didn't do well on lithium. I think it sucks. But if you really have bipolar, you should be on something. Otherwise, you'll just keep ending up in hospitals. And that sucks. Keep trying meds until you find something that works. And you know what? My moods have been incredibly high the last few months. And that's with the meds...
thanks, i will look it up, is it natural?? Talk to you later star p.s. how long were u on lithium before u took the other stuff?
i am on lithium as well as abilify. they are working well together but i won't lie. there are unpleasant side effects, like shaking and unusual muscle contractions in my feet. not fun, but i would rather deal with that than be hospitalized like my bf when his meds weren't working. good luck peace and love
Yeah, it's not natural. It's a prescription drug. But again, it works great. I tried lithium for about 3 months. It was really bad. At least for me. Everyone is different and the trick is to find what works for you. Having said that, Lamictal has the best reputation in terms on mood stabilizers.
Neurontin here. Don't you cycle to depressive states? I take the med to avoid the depression. I couldn't take another depressive cycle. I've never heard of it, but if you cycle between normal and mania, well I can see why you wouldnt want to take meds for that!
I'm not sure if this was directed to me, but I'll answer. I do tend to cycle between mania and normal. Which is great. I'm on a low dosage of Lamictal (100 mgs) but I won't stop taking it. The reason is I take it is because I know that because I have mania, I am susceptible to depression. I haven't had it in a long time, but I know the chance is there. And I'm not willing to risk it. As we all know, depression sucks bad. And like I said, I really don't feel any side effects from the Lamictal. I know my mania could be higher, but I still get manic (in a good way) anyway.
is there a way to take a bi-polar test??? I was tested for 1 day by a Shrink and he told me i wasn't how can a shrink test you for 1 day thats totally impossible!!! i think i have bi-polar because i'm up down hight low happy sad excited fine claustrphic and have axiety depression panic omgosh list goes on. Teri
I was diagnosised as schitzoaffective by one doctor after a half day of testing while two others who knew me over a period of a month decided on bipolar. I had a psychotic manic episode a month before the test and it skewed the results. Tests are not infalliable. dont diagnosis yourself b/c doctors can be wrong with 10+ years of schooling. we don't know shit so we can be wrong much more often. I know, first hand... peace and love
