Hi all... I would like help on dreading my ultra straight white hair =[ my mom backcombed them everyday forming them to be tight and i mean tight! Well they were too thick for my hair because I leanred that cauccassian hair needs to have small dreads (those whos hair greeses in like two w/o washing hair) so that they dry rather then tighten quicker. So I need help should I fry my hair and perm it?
i don't know the answer to your question.. but try here http://www.hipforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=209
your dreads can be as fat or skinny as you want. There are no rules. And there is absolutely no need to use harmful chemicals to damage your hair and force it to knot faster. Just leave it alone. The backcombing will likely fall out before real dreads can form anyway. Just leave it alone.
i ahve 1 months old dreads, and my backcombing fell outnafter its first wash, but i left it alone and it started dreading on its own, i put a bead ina few of them the other week and they are starting to dread nicely round the roots....the ends hwever have some way to go
arlia i did the exact same thign you did then i re-done em and left them natural and now they're actually tight as hell for the 3rd day....
mine rewally dont like shampoo, iv been trying to find one with no residue. i bought some handmade black soap off etsy so il give that a try, it smells lovely! the dreads are coping witohut beads now, and i discovered mine really love chlorine water for some reason, went swimming the other day and those babies really tightened up
all you need is dr.bronners hemp bar soap. i wasn't even meaning to dread my ultra silky straight hair, and here i am 6 years later, with long locks.
Dude, you can have phatty congo dreads if you're white... are you crazy!? I've got 3, and they are just fine. Don't do anything! Just leave em be, they'll work themselves out, and you'll have beautiful dreadies!
