one thing that i think is so incredibly stupid - when you're watching a movie. and you and everyone else in the theatre has seen the trailer on tv so many times already, with those jokes that you laughed at when you saw them the first time on tv. but not the 30th time. im talking about those movies that are so over advertised and hyped up. and you're sitting in the movie and you see the joke coming coz you know exactly how it goes. and still. people. laugh. at the joke. i just don't get that. and some people seem to nearly piss themselves. and i know they've seen it before at least a few times. a joke can only be funny so many times.... i need to take my bitch slapper to the movies. that is my random thought for today. someone that can still laugh at the same joke after hearing it 5+ times must have limited brain cells seriously.
maybe you are growing cynical. people are generally happy at the movies. usually out with family or close friends. is that really a bad thing; laughing and having a good time? shined a mental mirror
Huskie, you mean like your stupid cat icon that we have to stare at every friggin' meaningless post you make?
Some jokes are just funny no matter how many times you hear them. I still nearly piss myself every time I watch "Beetlejuice" and he goes into his "Well, I attended Julliard..." speal.
How dare anyone relieve their burden of stress and laugh at something they've seen seven times because it's just barely staving off the urge to go out on rooftops and shoot people.
Another future growth industry - farms where things are 'funny'. Don't forget ya heard it here first...
yes but beetlejuice is an old movie.. and its not a huge blockbuster hit. but the jokes im talking about are lame. and not funny and witty. funny once because they're stupid. and yes i will get my shotgun out soon enough. there is not to be any fun had to the movies. godamnit and friend get the fuck out of my thread
I think its fun to go to midnight showings of movies, Im sure mostly everyone has seen million times before, because people yell things at the screen, its a riot!! alot of times its funny. lol.
I yell things at my tv all the time...not as much as I used to, though, since fraiser went off the air.
i remember when i saw x men 3 there were school kids who kept laughing whenever anyone died. and in that shot of the empty wheelchair.. see i didnt mind that as much. but lots of other people were getting really pissed and yelling at them.
I saw Pulp Fiction late on in the 2 dollar cinema.. (shoes stickin' to the floor kinda joint) Right at the moment where Travolta's gun discharges in the car and blew that kids head off the whole place went deadly silent.... Then one voice rose...& said...heehee WHOOPS! Whole place erupted into laughter! Maybe you had to be there, but it was just hysterical!
I wouldn't know about that. I laugh at inappropriate times. Like for instances, there is a scene where this guy is being chased by an Orca and the gigantic fish bites him in the butt cheek. That would make me laugh. OOOOO, I remember the time when I was watching Robbie Keneviel and some other stunt guys on TV. This one guy was trying to jump over a large body of water but he only got half way when his motorcycle stooped. It looked like slow motion but he and the bike plunged into the water. I started to laugh slowly then I just fell out laughing because I kept seeing the man and his bike fall in the water. There are even times when the people talking through the movie are funny. Like when this guy and his girlfriend were arguing and she said that she couldn't satisfy him because she wasn't his momma. He told her that he couldn't satisfy her because he was afraid of the black hole. Then she got mad and smacked his face. Then he throw popcorn on her new dress. (The movie wasn't that good lol.)
When I went to see Terminator III there were these two guys in the front row doing a Mystery Science Theatre type of thing (commenting on the movie while it was going on). At first I was annoyed, but these guys turned out to be funny as hell; Arnold (onscreen): "..she corrupted my programing" Guy in front row: "Yeah, women'll do that"
I don't have a problem with people laughing 30+ times at a joke from a movie.. the thing that bugs me is when your watching a movie with someone who has already seen it and they say right before the joke, "ohhh this part is funny"... I dont know why it bugs me..haha. oH well. paz.
we were watching meet the parents in the theatre, and you know the part where owen wilson was talkin about how he made that gazebo by hand, and all about jesus being a carpenter, it was dead silent, and one of my friends said "he is so full of shit" really loud........ the whole theatre erupted in laughter. good stuff.
