I've been working on some much needed patvhy clothes patterns. My first one is complete. I have many others in the works. I would only design a pattern which would be able to be used forever over and over. And patterns that would truly teach the seamstress true patchwork techniques. that could be a useful thoughout other projects. I am a former art major, and completed classes in clothing costruction. I bring all of my knowledge to these patterns. Which i have designed pattern pieces which are muslin. To be used again and again. Along with very detailed illustrated instructions. Taking you through each step. I am offering these @ $10.00 for an introductory price. And the first 3 buyer will recieve there next pattern @ $5.00 less.
These patterns sound awesome. What kinds of patchy clothes? Skirts? Bags? My attempts always end up bungled and unprofessional, but i think that's part of their charm
The trouble with muslin pattern pieces is that they will stretch out of shape along the curves and diagonals. They would also shift along the bias when you lay them out for cutting on the fabric. Will they be interfaced to prevent that from happening?
I prefer paper patterns. You can try it out by pinning it on first then if you like it or it needs some altering, it's easy to do. If you've found a keeper...one you want to use numerous times, tape the paper pattern to (empty) cereal box and cut it out. I've been using the same cardboard patterns for my patchwork backpacks for 9 years now...they look a little rounded on the edges now but all I have to do is cut out replacements. Any directions I need to remember, I write on the pattern.
WOW!!! I adore that bag!!! Beautiful colors too!!! Goooood job! I might be interested in some of the patterns. Normally, I dont use one. But if these have well-written, DETAILED instructions I may consider them.
