I read on an older post that someone signed a form at their school to allow them to go barefoot. Did this really work? have any others tried this?
I managed to go barefooted at school. I went in trainers and slipped them off in lessons, and also at break I put my trainers in my bag and went barefoot. No one cared, but I was given a compliment by two girls
i took mine off during classes cause my teachers usually liked me enough not to care. that and i was always hurting my feet in shoes, so they just got used to me needing to be barefoot. but i had to wear them in the halls. my school was pretty strict with that. i do vaguely remembering someone wearing socks only... they said shoes were against their religion (i think.. i didnt know the person). i know that if you get on the VPs good side, you can get away with breaking dress code rules all the time. .. and getting to skip classes without having absences.
I wear a worn out pair of sandals to school nearly every day and slip them off and out of my way during lessons, lunch and on break. I've yet to have anyone ever confront me about it and my teachers usually just let me be.
Alright. NEARLY every day! I'm lucky in that to go to and from my classes I ordinarily don't have to go outside for very long. However when worst comes to worst I will fall back on socks and a pair of runners.
Once school starts up again I'm planning to wear boots durring those cold snowy walks to school, then just take them off when I get there. I've gone barefoot a few times before without any trouble so I think it'll be fine, but I'm prepared with a bunch of info I got from links on this forum if I get any shit. Fortunately, my Principal is a very liberal guy and an ex-street performer.
i usually wear flip flops until about the middle of november and i live in ontario as well. the shoes i switch to are those 10 dollar canvas running shoes though, so it's not much warmer, haha. as long as you have long pants it works out ok. starting in march i break out the flip flops and kick them (almost) completely in may.
