Ramen noodles are ok for short term. They are a carbohydrate....you really need some protein for a balance. Carbs convert to sugar...which is good for short term energy. Protein is required for long term energy and body maintenance.
Yeah, thanks kissya.. I try to toss some meat in there..Few veggies, & fruits too. Hadn't had a vehicle available to go shopping with all this week.
Ok, you're welcome. A womans multi-vitamin would help too. Remember if the body does not get proper nutrition.....it will take it from somewhere else. Like the calcium from your bones....and teeth. You do not want that.....
we were so broke when i was pregnant the first time around that i lived on ramen and hamburger. not hamburger helper. hamburger. no ketchup.
Only Ramen? I buy a case and supplement them with veggies from my garden. You can do wonders and probally survive a long long time.
*looks out window at little thugs in parking lot, & building directly across the way* ...No, not really in any convenient places. Even the sills won't support boxes for growing.
hahahahahaha My BF just told me that there were a couple college students somewhere in the states that tried to live off of Ramen noodles for as long as they could and they got scurvy!
I nearly lived on ramen for about 4 years when I was in college all my money went to tuition........ ...and beer.
we always always have ramen at our house, here in my apt, and at my mom's house. it's sooooo freakin cheap and easy to make. i always add veggies to it and leave a lot water so there's a broth. they call it saimin in hawaii and it's yummy. my brother used to have it every day for probably years.... ate other stuff too though, and i have it... every once in a while, maybe once a week or so.
I usually survive on ramen noodles and tuna sandwhiches. Also eggs. I like to mix up the ramen thing though. Sometimes I'll poach eggs in it and eat it that way. Other times I'll just make some jail house popcorn. Just depends.
Well, tonight I made some really tasty minestrone soup with manischewitz soup mix..Added chicken, what was left in the house. Surprised at how tasty, & inexpensive it is. Talked to the boss today, as she neglected to kill my company cell phone, & I ended up using it for emergency purposes. Looks like I may have my job back in August. Have unemployment, & an encroaching trip out of town keeping me going 'till then. The reason I got laid off was due to her husband having some fairly serious health problems. They simply couldn't keep up with the business. Was good to hear he's beginning to get better now. So, I'm going to do my best to take advantage of the time off and still make preparations just in case it falls through. ...Just a little update to the ramen noodle saga.
thats some good news having something to look forward to always brings your mood up, atleast in my experience.
those recipes are awesome! My mom stir fries the noodles up with some bean sprouts, green onions, maybe some red peppers, and chicken ..... its really good as long as the noodles arent overcooked....
