Just registered. Name's Dave. If you check out my profile you can find what I am up to through various blogs etc. Passages is mainly poetry and a biographical episode dealing with HCV and the love of my life along with some short stories. Gitmo Dave's Journal is new but I hope to have fun with that. I like to write, poetry and stories and articles. I have in mind an alternative view of the 60's for a writing project which is how I stumbled on this place. I'm pretty old. Damn near 60. Seen a lot of crap in all that time but not as much as since November of 2000. Nixon was a petty thief compared to what we have today. I'm afraid the good old days are forever gone. Freedom in all it's aspects, especially as related to the press, is being redefined as we sit here and remember it. It is difficult to have a memory of things other than the way they are today and realize that they are gone; but they are the way they are today and that is a fact. It is, however, a fact that they were different at one time. It will remain a fact as long as some of us who remember are alive and then it will no longer be a fact and those left in the present will have an interpretation given to them that they have to live with. I'm glad I won't be here to see it. I will not like that reality at all. Was just introduced to a top notch journalist Greg Palast. You might google him. Nice to meet you all. Gitmo Dave
